“Great small hotel”
We would stay there again and the location was just right. Close to everything and easy walking to the Metro. Staff was very helpful in finding diner spots and giving directions.
“charming”
Pleasant, quiet, small but nice rooms, clean, good breakfast, helpful staff, good location, great value for money.
“I will DEFINITELY stay at this hotel again!”
Without any advance knowledge of this hotel, I booked online and was pleasantly surprised when arriving in Montreal. First of all it was very easy to drive to this location. The street is a beautiful, tree lined street full of art galleries and a college and just very lovely and quiet. The staff was so welcoming and charming and they were more than patient with all my "touristy" questions and concerns. I loved this location as it was in the heart of downtown, yet quiet enough to enjoy. It was a one block walk to the metro and right on the bus line. We walked to St. Catherine street and Crescent street to be right in the midst of the heartbeat of the city. The "Continental" breakfast was an understatement. My wife and I could have stayed all morning and enjoyed all the pastries, fresh fruits and asstd meats and cheeses. It was first class all the way. If there was any negative at all, it was that there is very little parking there and so we are pretty much forced to have them valet park our car at a cost of $24 per night. This wasnt posted on the website and so it sort of took us by surprise. Although my options were limited because there is no on street parking that doesnt require payment via a meter, so it would have cost me more than the $24 to park elsewhere. However the valet was most accomodating, helpful and friendly. We will Defintely stay there again and I highly reccomend this boutique hotel to adults as there is not a lot of "kid" diversions available.
“A little gem on Sherbrooke”
I was thoroughly impressed with my recent 5 night stay at the Chateau Versailles. My father was upgraded to a lovely suite just behind the front desk. I had a lovely room on the 3rd floor-- compact but had everything I needed. The breakfast room and quality of food was excellent and much appreciated. I found the staff to be very friendly and accomodating. I used the business center to check my e-mail and often found the 2 computer terminals unoccupied. The location is excellent-- within walking distance of many restaurants, museum, etc. I will definitely stay there again.
“I never wanted to leave!!!”
Great place and location! Great service! All great!!!
“Would go back”
We enjoyed our stay at Chateau Versailles Hotel which was in the centre-ville/downtown area. There was a nice atmosphere and the hotel staff were friendly, helpful and curteous and made us feel very welcome. The breakfasts were entirely satisfactory and the stay was very good value for money. Thank you.
“Great deal, Great Hotel!”
For the price, this hotel cannot be beat! We recently stayed here for 5 days to attend a wedding. It's a little outside of the downtown area but close to the subway and if it's nice out, a nice walk to downtown. There are plenty of restaurants in the area (Starbucks, Pizza, Chinese, Halal, etc.) and a large movie theatre complex (AMC) a few blocks away. There is a parking garage located at a college a few blocks away for 5 dollars (US) a day on weekends. Fills up pretty fast though so get there early. The hotel gym is very small (bike, treadmill and a machine) but at least it's something. The breakfast is very nice and included! There are 2 computers in the lobby (Free) as well. Room safes are good.
“Quality, clean, comfortable home away from home”
My husband & I recently spent six nights in Montreal. It was our first trip to this area. The staff was always very helpful & each day/night we were greeted with smiles. We appreciated their assistance with making dinner reservations one evening. We enjoyed the daily breakfast buffet which consisted of a choice of three cereals, juices (apple, orange & one other), toast w/ jams/peanut butter/butter, yogurt, meats & cheeses, pastries, apples/oranges. Served until 10:30am each morning, we always felt that our morning meal got our days off to a great start. The hotel is located on the edge of downtown. We would typically walk to our destinations each morning & take the Metro home at night. It's conveniently located near the Guy-Concordia station. Some reviews have complained about the lack of elevators & the size of some of the rooms. This hotel is located in a wonderful old building so it's no surprise that it doesn't have elevators. I would not let this discourage you. I am 6 months pregnant & was able to get around the stairs just fine. We had a standard room with a full size bed & it was just fine. Sure the room isn't huge but it's very typical of what you'll find in any large city (New York, London, etc.). The bed was comfortable, the room/bathroom were clean, it was quite- these are the important things to consider when looking for a hotel room. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Montreal & stay at Chateau Versailles. We'd highly recommend it to others.
“Nice quaint chateau”
