A nice place to stay

Posted Mar 25, 2015
Everything was lovely. The staff was nice, the facilities were nice, the rooms were nice. I would absolutely stay there again. The only issue for me was that the lobby is currently under construction, and although I can tell that it's going to be beautiful, I would have really liked to see it finished. :)

Looking up

Posted Mar 5, 2015
Pros: Hotel is in a great location, and very accessible.
Cons: Can't wait to go back when renovations are done. It its going to look great!
Location: Close to the Science Centre, and other museum, as well being across the street from the Palais des Congrès of Montreal and the Metro.
Although being renovated, the hotel was clean, and all services were up and running. Room was clean, staff was professional and very friendly. Pool was a little on the warm side but very clean.

Great location for family weekend away

Posted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: Location! Kids loved the pond in the main lobby and around the restaurant.
Cons: Renos will make a nice difference! Could compensate that by offering free parking? or discount in restaurant?
Location: Two blocks from Notre Dame Basilica, one block from Congress Centre, one block from Chinatown pedestrian area, 4 blocks from Saint Catherine.
We stayed here for two nights as a wkd getaway with our teenaged children. The location was perfect for walking around Old Montreal, visiting the Congress Centre, and walking to Rue Saint Catherine. It was easy to get to from the 720. Staff were very helpful and friendly, breakfast buffet was good but overpriced. It is clear that the hotel is undergoing renovations and you can tell that it needs it. The pool area was clean but a little rundown. However, plenty of clean towels were available and the hours were good. Our room seemed a little shabby (back of door was chipped and peeling) but the beds were very comfortable and the sheets, pillows, blankets were great quality. Lack of pay-per-view movies was disappointing, and it took a while for the room to warm up once we'd adjusted the heating unit.

Hotel en travaux, attendez 6 mois avant d'y aller

Posted Jan 17, 2015 on Hotels.com

A winter's day in Montreal

Posted Jan 15, 2015 on Hotels.com
Visit was for one day layover from New Years vacation in Quebec City. Had hoped to see more of Montreal, but had an unusual ice storm, making getting around more difficult. However, hotel right across from Metro station, and able to get into room in early morning of arrival. Room was larger than many and beds very comfortable. Generous hours for using the fitness room and hot tub/pool. Hotel undergoing some renovations with desk on 2nd floor at time of visit.Staff very helpful with suggestions and excellent breakfast before going to airport.

Not worth the money

The room was overpriced and the hotel was in need of major renovations. The pool was cold and gross but was in a decent location

Disappointed! Holiday Inn, you've done better

Posted Jan 3, 2015 on Hotels.com
Chinese theme inside the hotel, especially on the reception level was "tacky" to say the least. Reception level was difficult to find once entering the hotel due to the maze of stores at ground level. Hotel appeared generally run down. Water temperature of the sink in the bathroom el was either hot or cold, no in between. Same with the air conditioner. It wouldn't put out any heat unless turned up to 31 degrees Celsius. Obviously, at that setting, it soon got too hot, meaning we would have to turn it down, but set the thermostat at 30 degrees and the room soon got too cold, as no hot air would come out of the unit. The room was spacious, which was nice, but the TV at the other end of the room (width-wise) was too small in comparison when viewed from the bed. The shower nozzle could not be directed downward enough, and you were soon blasted with water even at the far end of the tub when pulling up the plunder to direct the water from the tap to the shower head. I would not stay there again. When visiting Montreal again, I'll stay at a better hotel.
