“OK hotel could use an uplift”
Hotel is excellently located very practical for moving around, metro is a block away and everything else is pretty much walking distance. Hotel rooms are old and could use some remodeling. Internet was NO good in the room, you have to go to the lobby to use it. I reported this several times and they just said they were going to check it, but that never made it work.
“good location, bad beds”
Terribly uncomfortable beds. Otherwise, the hotel is conveniently located near a Metro stop and, if you are a hockey fan, it is close to the arena.
“Mike”
What a great place. The buildings over all needs a little updating, but the beds were super comfortable and you CANT beat the price. I highly recommend this.
“Works for the Budget Minded”
No real issues -- I was attending a conference at a hotel 10 minutes away where the room cost twice as much -- saved a few bucks and was near all the same shops, restaurants, and tourist spots downtown. Room was big - TV was nice --One big bonus is the 747 airport bus stops right in front of the hotel (it's the 2nd stop) - very convenient if you are flying in.
“Chilanga”
Overall very good for the price. Nice bed, very comfortable, clean, seems like the furniture is quite new. I was pleased and would definitely book this hotel again.
“thin walls and doors make for a troubled sleep”
thin walls and doors make for a troubled sleep
“OK -- Not great.”
The hotel was clean and they were very fluent in English which was good as we didn't speak french. My biggest problem with the hotel was the room temperature. The first room we had the AC was broken. They said they fixed it, but it didn't work any better. The second room was much nicer and the AC worked really well. After 2 nights the AC stopped working again. They also couldn't honour our reservation (King bed). They also didn't clean our room on one of the days. Wasn't too big of a deal, but I really would have loved it if they told us that. They offered free espresso or coffee any time of the day and as much as you could drink -- which was a huge bonus to my husband. Also, the location was great. Far enough away from the "strip" to be quiet but close enough to be a great location.
“good for a cheap room to stay at”
the hotel had a feeling similar to a dorm when you come off the elevators but the the price we got the room it was good. the staff was helpful. the hotel room itself was ok. definately an older hotel but it is 2 streets over from st. catherine's street. we felt safe in the hotel room and walked everywhere. my recommendation though is if you are going there durning wedding season ask for a high floor because they have weddings on the first floor.
“Probably wouldn't stay again”
Checked into the room at 3AM in the morning for a 3 day stay and the AC was roarring loud and wasn't cold. I ended up sleeping through it since I was tired, next morning AC was frosted up and the room was steaming hot. The maintenance man fixed the AC the 2nd day and the room was cool, but not cold. The AC went out again the next day (same as before) and I had to request a room change. The front desk did not even offer the room change and insisted sending the maintenance man to double check before I could request a room change. This was at 5PM in the afternoon and also, the room still wasn't cleaned. Left a nice tip asking for more towels, and I didn't get any. Oh yeah, 3rd day stay had no hot water at all.
“Will stay here again!”
The Hotel Espresso was in a great location. Parking was covered and at a reasonable price and with in and out privileges. The minute we walked into the room you could smell how clean it was. I was very impressed. The only negative thing I would say is they need more light in their room but that is very minor. I will stay there again. Great location, one block from St. Catherine street.
