A good place to stay

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Good clean basic accommodation without the high cost of a downtown location. Right off of Hwy 40, has good access to and from this location. The continental breakfast was a bonus and staff were very accommodating, in both official languages. Would recommend this Motel.

Nice staff member

Pros: friendliness and price
Cons: more choice of breakfast address on US map
Good experience! I reserved three rooms for three families to stay, but one family got into an emergency situation, so I called to see if we could cancel one room. Even though we agreed that the room couldn't be canceled, the management was kind enough to let us cancel the reservation without charging anything. We do appreciate it!

Hotel was fine - location not so much

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Clean. Friendly staff. Wi-fi in the room. Price.
Location: Location wasn't great. Too far to get to downtown.
This was actually more what I would call a motel - we parked right in front of our room door and the rooms all faced inward to the courtyard of sorts. The hotel staff was friendly. Continental breakfast was standard. Room was clean, as was the bathroom. There was a mini fridge in the room, which was nice. Wi-fi in the room. My only problem with the hotel was the location. I really thought it would be closer to downtown Montreal but it was a significant drive. One morning it took us 40 minutes to get downtown because of all of the traffic on the highway. One evening we went through town and due to the lights, it was an easy half hour. While you save on the hotel and free parking, I am not sure it is worth it to have the hassle of driving so far. We like to spend the day exploring then freshen up before dinner; that added lots of time and hurry to our days.

Pros: Closeness to Montreal.
Cons: Breakfast and outlets.
The room was clean, but there was just one outlet to charge phones or anything else. Breakfast was also a little disappointing, as there were only starches and more starches. I don't think it's too difficult to have some scrambled eggs or a nice tray of fruits and maybe some cheese.

Unfair incidental charge and unhelpful management

Posted Jun 13, 2014
Pros: It was cheap, until the ridiculous incidental charge.
Cons: Hopefully one day their management can listen to actual claims from their customers.
Location: It's on a service road of a busy highway, there is nothing to do nearby. But there's a Tim Horton's, they were a life-saver.
Stayed at this hotel with my friends on a 2 night stay. Cheap (initially), and access next to the highway. Wifi was bad. Bed sheets had stains on it. Smoking is available right outside the hotel rooms and ashtrays are available in short distance to each room (on the 1st floor at least where I stayed). After my trip got an incidental charge for according to them, "smoking inside the room". Contacted the hotel management and they were very unhelpful. I explained that we did not smoke indoors at all, why would we? The ashtrays were right outside. If there was any smell indoors then it would be just the common smell a person has after smoking or perhaps the smell from smoke outside getting in somehow. In either case, the manager stated that it was their policy to charge for smoking inside, and anything I said was just speculation. For the speculation part, in some form I agree since anyone can lie of course, but I was not lying and I began to be very bothered by the fact that he wouldn't even look into it. I even asked him to check with the cleaning staff, whom saw my friends and I smoking outside the rooms when we were checking out. Of course, the manager of a hotel that falsely charges their customers can't waste his time doing this check with their staff. To smokers, don't smoke outside your rooms where ashtrays are made readily available, it's a trap. To all non-smokers, hope to god that no one smokes outside your room. In either case, don't go here.

Dear naim, I apologize that you feel that the charge was unfair however, as we talked about during our phone conversation, we do not impose heavy fines for light or no evidence and the evidence of smoking in the room reported by our Housekeeping Manager was substantial enough for the fine to be applied. We unfortunately sometimes have to enforce these rules because of the increasing number of requests from our guests who favor a completely smoke-free hotel environment. The only way to provide this experience is not to allow smoking within the building. Therefore, we extends this preference throughout all areas of a hotel. We nevertheless offer special designated smoking areas outside the building in order to accommodate the needs of our guests who smoke. Again, I am sorry we could not come to a better understanding on the matter and will take your comments into account in order to continually improve the manner in which we present the policy to our guests.
