Close to everything!

Posted Feb 17, 2015
Pros: Close to everything we wanted to do and see.
Cons: a complete renovation to make it soundproof! JK, at 11 pm there is a quiet rule and if people don't respect it they will be asked to leave.
Location: Shopping, Metro, Restaurants, neat army surplus stores, cool bars, whatever you want or need I am sure you can find it from here.
We stayed over the Valentine's weekend and were treated great! The staff are knowledgeable about the surroundings and very helpful. It is close to the Metro and St. Catherine is right around the corner for great shopping. We had a great time!!! The Hotel rooms are not soundproof by any means we could hear people coughing down the hall but we were fortunate to have the top floor so nobody was over our heads... I would ask for the 4th floor ;) other than that it was a great place to sleep.

Some like it cold...

Posted Feb 17, 2015
Building is antique, including the heating system. There is no designated parking except 2 spots at the back. Room carpet is in horrible state. SUPER COLD! It was -20C outside, I could swear that the temperature inside the room was no higher than +15C, partly due to the fact that the door did not exactly fit the frame. Sheets were ok, breakfast is coffee and croissants, staff is quite friendly and helpful. Close to the subway, there are some restaurants nearby. Bottom line: probably would be acceptable at summer time, but I would not recommend it if the outside temperature is below zero.

Very friendly staff. Decor tired but overall good value and within walking distance of the old town and all the restaurants. Croissants a breakfast were delicious./

Hôtel bien situé au centre-ville de Montréal

Posted Feb 2, 2015

Last place I would choose

I stayed out most of the time. I was surprised at how small the room was. Did not feel comfortable in the beginning.

Hotel was conveniently located close to the places

Posted Jan 1, 2015
Pros: Location, safety and cleanliness
Cons: The front desk failed to call me at my wake up call twice and late one time. I suggest they find a way to ensure guest get there requested wakeup call
Location: restaurants and entertainment close by

Cons: The tv didn't work, but we were in town to experience the city so it didn't really matter.
The staff were super helpful and friendly. Breakfast of fresh croissants and baguettes were brought to our room at the requested time each morning. Delicious! The facilities are nothing special but had everything we needed.

Modest hotel

Posted Dec 8, 2014
Hotel St. André is a modest hotel, without any pretensions. A plus is the breakfast brought to the room at the hour requested. Another plus is proximity to the Metro. Restaurants within 5 minutes abound. Do not expect 4 or 5 star accommodation. The hotel was perfect for us, a retired couple who do not spend rashly.
