Beyond criticism

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Cons: Ladies hair dryer so I'm told!!
It's an hotel that caters to a style and taste, and the tasting menu is an experience. The staff across the board is witty, helpful and attentive if needs be. The atmosphere is calm and pleasurable differentiating it from the rush of most hotels. Yet it is near most facilities that are internationally relevant for the city. Would never go any where else in Montreal.

A special place that is well situated.

Close to the river waterfront, the galleries and boutiques as well as the jazz fest. Many good restaurant options within a short walk. The staff shines!

Excellent hotel, in "Old Port Montreal".

Posted Jun 21, 2014
Pros: Quiet hotel, with very friendly, courteous staff, very helpful.
Cons: Not much, if any thing at all.
Location: Short walk to many historic and religious sites; restaurants/ outdoor seating on St. Paul street; Notre-Dame Cathedral - a must, must see.
First time visit to Montreal, within walking distance to many 'must-see' sites in Old Port. Also near the Montreal Metro to get to other sites.

Beautiful building

We paid extra for one of the junior suites. The room was tasteful but not as big as I'd expected for the price. There are bathrobes and slippers are lovely Molten Brown toiletries but then they spoil it by wanting to charge $20 for wifi. Coffee-making facilities in the room would have been nice at this price too. Breakfast isn't included but that's because this hotel doesn't have a breakfast buffet - it's all a la carte at different prices. The breakfast was delicious!

Nice Hotel, but no coffee machine

Posted Apr 22, 2014
Pros: Staff
Cons: Did I mention there was no coffee machine in our room?
Nice hotel, great staff, but lacked some critical features such as a coffee machine in our room. Room service at $25 for coffee is a bit steep.

Great Boutique Hotel in Old Montreal

This is our third stay at this lovely hotel. A former bank building which has been impeccably renovated - all rooms are unique and very well appointed. Staff is tremendous. Service is the best. We love this place.

Great Hotel in Old Montreal

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: The staff. You could not ask for better service from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. The concierge was great.
Cons: Nothing to improve upon.
Location: There are plenty of museums and restaurants in the area. We also drove to the Expo center to see a special baseball game.
We stayed four nights. The room was a Junior Suite with a huge marble bathroom. The bed was one of the best we have every slept in. The room was perfect for a couple. It was clean and comfortable. We were there in March and there was snow on the ground. It was a little difficult to walk around Old Montreal. Spring and Summer would to a better time of year to visit. The front desk will exchange your currency and the Valet parks your car (extra cost).
