“location, location, location.”
This is where you want to be. A few blocks walking-easily/safely to the main shopping district with money changers who give the best rate at their souvenior shops- lowest fees-stay away from banks-higher fees. Walked to the Metro stop-7 minutes and for $2.50 was at Old Montreal and the Cathedrel in ten minutes. Stay here. Clean; convenient; safe; great rates. Walk to cresent- Mausenuve for the best crepes w/fruit-$12.oo-beats the hotel buffet by a mile
“Not Impressed”
Parking Lot is so small.
“Recommend with some qualifications...”
We happened into the hotel during a very humid and hot week. The lobby was minimally cooled and the hallways on the floors not at all. We cranked the air con in our room for refuge so that helped but it wasn't a terribly strong cooler. There were several days where hoards of people disgorged from tour buses and getting an elevator was ridiculously hard (they're old, slow, small, not air conditioned and we were on the 12th floor). Last negative was the bathroom- tiny and not well laid out, but it is an older building so nothing to help here. For the positives, the service was exemplary and the people working there couldn't have been nicer or more responsive. A+++. Relative to the other hotels in the area it was affordable and well located, close to Metro and downtown nightlife/restaurants. Pretty quiet too. If you're not afraid of possible lobby crowds and slow crowded elevators, AND you avoid the hottest parts of the year, you'll be just fine!
“Great location”
The hotel was comfortable and right in the middle of almost everything. House keeping was okay until day 6th (my 2nd last day). They didn't empty the dustbin & partially cleaned the bathroom. One more thing, I was charged twice for a local call I didn't make. Both calls were made around 11am while I was attending a conference in another hotel. I suspected that one of the staff probably the cleaner (not accusing but logically thinking ...) used the phone. However, they brushed off the charges when I told them that I was not around that very moment to make those calls.
“Overall Good, But A Few Minor Issues”
Overall this hotel provide good value. The room was clean and well maintained. One problem is the noise level. At night, you could still hear traffic noise. Also, TV is very small. Otherwise, this hotel was convenient (good location), and provides good value.
“good hotel would return”
A very good hotel , good location , clean and comfortable.
“Disappointed”
Not a 3 star hotel. Despite of a child, non smoking request we were offered a smoking room. We were changed to 'only one left' a non smoking room on second floor. It had unchanged bedlinen in one bed (pillowcases were changed in both), thin and stained sheets, old bed spreads (one stained), stained carpet, lamps didn't work, dirty towel was hanging in the bathroom. Keys did not work first time around, and we saw many people in lobby coming back for the same reason. As we shared our experience at the front desk and inquired how we can get a refund and leave, they offered us another room on a upper floor, which had little better linen, was little cleaner. Still, no mattress pads, you can feel the springs, stained carpeting, bath room ok with old towels, (though the drain in bath tub was very slow), one key did not work again and one lamp was unplugged. Hotel pool looked nice, but dirty! (needs scrubbing), no towels available. We did receive free parking as compensation, however, polite front desk and convenient location is not enough to bring us back.
“An ok Stay”
The hotel was in an okay area and the people in the hotel was nice with the expectation on maybe one person i encountered that worked there. Other than that I had a pleasant stay.
“Good value”
Hotel staff was very helpful. Good value for the location, very near good dining option and we walked to almost everything we wanted to see. I did not eat in the hotel so cannot comment on the bar or restaurant.
“Bell Center area stay”
Saw Sting at the Bell Center.. Great show. Hotel is walking distance - down the block. Well worth the overnight stay.
