The location was fantastic and so was the accommodation. The restaurants in the area exceeded our expectations, the staff was extremely helpful and the the room as extremely comfortable. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Romantic Weekend Getaway

Posted Nov 15, 2014
Pros: We loved the service, the room itself, the architecture, but, most importantly, the staff.
Cons: A rug in the bath for those cold days would be spectacular.
Location: Many restaurants, lovely waterfront, the market are all nice choices. We walked to the Museum of Art - wonderfuL!
Staff and accommodations both above exemplary. Nathalia, one of the concierges, hooked us up for a phenomenal dining experience at Baracco (spelling?)... the charming Christophe - who Nathalia said to send greetings to - made me a specialty cocktail... lovely! The hotel is well-appointed, the staff are tres charmante and hospitable. Whether you need directions, suggestions, or a taxi, the ever-available and pleasing staff make certain your needs are met. In addition, the hotel bar/dining area (the less fancy of the two) was great for a bite and a drink. Happy vibe. All hotels should be so lovely!

Great location. Helpful staff.

Hotel is in the middle of the old town, two minutes walk from the Basilica, five minutes from the subway, and only 20-30 minutes to walk into the downtown. Great base for exploring Montreal. Staff were all very friendly and helpful -- e.g. we got an early check-in with no fuss. Very relaxing and ideal for a few days away from the kids.

My regular stop in Montreal...

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Pros: Warmth and friendly, well-trained staff. Rooms with brick walls and comfy beds are a real plus, and good desk, chair and internet.
Cons: Sound system was scratchy
A well run and reliable small hotel in the old historic port area of Montreal.

A definite RECOMMEND

Posted Oct 11, 2014
Pros: The staff are extremely helpful and courteous, the hotel is very chic and the rooms are very well appointed with the most comfortable beds imaginable!
Cons: Nothing struck me as requiring any improvement. I'd really have to be stretching to find anything worth commenting on.
Location: Explore everything that Old Montreal has to offer - shops, art galleries, museums, restaurants ... or just people watch!
If you're planning on staying in Old Montreal, Hotel Nelligan should be at the top of your list. It's located right in the heart of the old city. The staff are extremely helpful and courteous, the hotel is very chic and the rooms are very well appointed with the most comfortable beds imaginable! While there are many, many restaurants to choose from in the city, you don't need to step further than the restaurant in the hotel. The menu was varied, the wine list extensive with some very good wines reasonably priced, and the service was impeccable. Tip: ask for the table in the corner window - it's great for people watching.

Great experience!

We spent a week in montreal for a conference. The Nelligan was amazing. The room, staff, comfort, location, helpfulness all were great. Looking forward to a return trip and this is definitely our hotel of choice. We have stayed in others in Montreal and none compare.

Outstanding Romantic Getaway!

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Loved the room, location and roof top bar.
Cons: Drink coupons honored more clearly at hotel bar.
Location: Location was perfect. We ate out at jazz restaurant Modavie 2 blocks away and went for a morning jog along Old Port waterfront in the morning.
We had a perfect night at Hotel Nelligan! The staff was incredible, the roof top bar just right to kick off and end our evening in Old Montreal. Our room exceeded our expectations. We will be back as soon as we can. On our only regret is that we didn't extend our stay.
