“v. good overall”
excellent location. very clean. very helpful staff will defintely go back if visit Montreal next time
“Great staff, ok quality”
The staffs were really friendly and helpful. the hotel location is very good. The hotel is by no mean a 5 stars hotel, it has 5 floors with no elevator. However, the hotel was clean and in alright condition. Pretty good for the price I paid.
“Quiet, Little Hotel”
i thought it was a nice and quiet hotel. the staff was amazing and very helpful. i really enjoyed my stay.
“Price-value OK - Parking an issue”
I knew this was a less expensive hotel before booking so I am evaluating the experience based on that. Room was exactly what I expect. Older capeting and furniture but it was generally clean. Staff was helpful. Check in/out was quick and painless. Location was generally good for my needs but, agian, I knew were I was in context of my geographical needs. Biggest issue was parking. I saw in other reviews that some parking was available if you contact them in advance. But I was told that no parking was available to guests and I had to park on the street. And that off hours (after 9:00pm) that I could find spaces near the hotel without problems (free until 9:00am the following morning). That was hardly true - I had to cruise the neighborhood several times at night -after 9:00 - to find a spot. That was very inconvenient and annoying. The nearest parking lot with overnight parking, I found, was a 15+ walk away.
“It was a mistake.”
The pictures and qualification of the hotel does not represent the reality in any way. I did not have any problems. However, the hotel is not even a 1 star. The breakfast was promotes as Continental. The reality was: no fruit, no water, no egs, no, no, .... Only coffee and three tables. Internet worked OK. Only one person to receive the passengers in the counter and nobody else anywhere.
“A very nice hotel, especially for the price”
the hotel was rather clean, in a decent neighborhood, and extremely easy to find. The rooms were spacious, with plenty of room to put our things. I was very pleased with my stay here ^_^
“Great bargain in great neighborhood: comfortable, quiet, and convenient”
We loved our stay. It's not a ritzy place, but it was perfect for us. We were there to visit our daughter at McGill and it was super convenient for that. The room was comfortable and quiet. It's a little shabby in decor, but that didn't matter to us and in a way made it feel more like home...a little peeling paint in the bathroom made it especially so! The reading light on either side of the bed was good: also a big plus. Breakfast was adequate and I was happy to see an ice machine for guest use. It was nice to be in a real neighborhood: near affordable and great restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, etc. Also nice to be walking distance to campus and Mont Royale. The owner, and everyone we encountered, were really nice and accomodating. We asked to check out an hour later than the 12:00 noon check-out time and he let us.
“Great rooms, Bad parking, Mediocre walk to the Metro/ Breakfast...”
The good: The room was really big for the amount we paid and very clean... no problems at all with the state of our room or the hotel in general. The bad: Even though they say they have parking, they only have about 5 spots in the back ($20 a night)... when we arrived all the spots for the night we arrived were taken, leaving us to find a spot on the street. This would not have been so problematic if parking lanes didn't turn into bus lanes at 8 am, but in order not to get towed we had to wake up earlier than we would have liked and search for parking. Upon discovering that there wasn't any street parking available within a reasonable walk, and that the few parking garages had not yet opened for the day, the hotel people let us squeeze our car into a non-space in their back lot until someone else checked out that day. Turned out all right, but definitely a headache... so, if you have a car, call in advance to reserve your parking. Metered parking is available at certain times of the day when the buses aren't running, so make sure you look for the poles w/ your space number and the giant parking meter boxes located somewhere within the vicinity to pay for your spot. The Okay: The Metro stop isn't too far to walk, but it is still a bit of a hike, especially if you plan on coming back to your room mid-day... I'd say the walk was 10-15 minutes each way. Also, the continental breakfast is very minimal-- coffee is the only drink, a couple cold cereals, toast & bagels.
“decent for price”
Good location. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean room, comfortable beds, but not much charm. Breakfast nothing to speak of.
“Cute hotel- worth it for the price”
Great location, cute hotel- 10 minute walk to nearest subway. Breakfast is decent- nothing fancy but will work.
