In the middle of the action

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: Close to all the action, on a pedestrian street.
Cons: Access to floor
Location: Close to many activities, subway, restaurants
Great place, very quiet still in the middle of the action. Apart from the stairs, it was a great place to stay.

I am pleased that you enjoyed our prime location in the heart of the entertainment district and that you appreciated a quiet night's rest in our establishment. Being in a historic building, there is no possibility of an elevator and therefore the stairs can be daunting. We hope to welcome you again in a near future.

Good stay

Comfortable, Simple, clean, with some style and a great location. A good value buy. No parking so factor in a block or two walk to a nearby underground lot.

Close to everything

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Central location to everything downtown.
Location: The hotel is on a St. Catherine Street, which has all kinds of restaurants and shopping. The Convention Center and old town are just a few blocks away
I read reviews beforehand that mentioned stairs, but I was not expecting that many. There were 20 or so up to the lobby. To get to our room, we had to go back down, around the side of the building, and up another 30-plus. It was OK for two people with only two carry-on bags, but I'd hate to do it with small children or heavy luggage. The hotel is next to an open area where a Jazz Festival was being held, so it was loud! until 11 p.m. I probably would not have stayed there had I known. I'd definitely call ahead before reserving another time. The morning desk clerk was friendly, courteous and helpful. She let us keep our bags there for a while after check out so we didn't have to lug them around with us. Our room had been renovated, but it still had an older feel. I love that the room had a full kitchen: full fridge, sink, oven/stove and dishes.

Thank you for reviewing our hotel. Being in a historic building, we realize that there are numerous steps to contend with. I am pleased that you appreciated your studio apartment,, as well as our customer service. We are indeed ideally located, close to the major tourist sites. Our hotel often caters to clients who wish to have at their doorstep world class entertainment every day of the year in Montreal's vibrant Quartier des Spectacles. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future.

Amazing value and excellent facilities

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: Beautiful building on the inside, helpful staff and plenty of space.
Cons: In the part of the building we were staying in the rooms were on the upper floor reached by a steep flight of stairs (no lifts).
Location: The hotel is right next to the theatre complex and a large shopping centre. It's also very close to Chinatown.
I'd been offered a good deal on this hotel through expedia and expected a double room - we got two queen beds, one single bed and cooking facilities including a fridge. The room was very spacious and comfortable as well.

Great hotel, downtown location, easy access.

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Tell people when the Jass Festival is going on.
Location: All of DT Montreal, including Boul. St. Laurent.
It was horrible, terrible, a disaster. The Montreal Jazz Festival was in full swing. The hotel was right at the edge of the festivities and, the music played until midnight. Worse, they were a bunch of party people that decided to hoop and holler until about 2-3AM, right under my window. I don't think I got more than 2-3hrs of sleep.

I am pleased that you found that you found our property a great hotel and that you appreciated our downtown location and it's easy access. I am very disappointed, however, that you did not have a good night's rest. Our hotel is indeed in the heart of Montreal's trendy entertainment district and during the summer festivals, it can be loud with music until midnight; We do have some room types facing the back of the hotel for lighter sleepers.

Close to night life down town and great price

Posted Jun 18, 2014
Great place if you looking to be close to Night life. Not recommended for business. Very noisey at night and got harrased by lots of beggars and prostitutes near entrance at night.

Our hotel has a large business clientèle due to our proximity to the convention center. We are pleased to provide rooms facing the terrace rather than the street for those needing a quieter environment for work. Being downtown of a large metropolitan city, we realize that there are many beggars; however, the area remains very safe since it is the theatre district and hosts of all of Montreal's major festivals. We are disappointed that we were not able to meet all your needs but hope to be have the opportunity welcome you again and to show you the trademark service that we have been recognized for and are so proud of.

Boutique hotel in the center of things

Posted Jun 18, 2014
Looking for an affordable studio apartment hotel room close to everything this is the perfect place. Location is a bit surprising as it sits in the middle of a very busy area. There is a full flight of stairs required to get to the registration desk and there is not an elevator, so heavy luggage could be an issue.

Hard to find, but worth it.

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: New, quiet rooms
Cons: Make ti easier to locate from the road.
Location: Easy walk to the convention center
Difficult to locate if driving by car. Front desk staff went out of their way to assist with everything - even leaving the desk to go outside to point you in the right direction. Rooms were newly renovated and in great shape. This was one of the most quiet rooms we have ever had.

Location in the heart of the city.

Posted Jun 8, 2014
Pros: Location. Room Size. Cleanliness.
Cons: This cannot be changed, but there are many stairs and no elevator. This was not an issue for us but could be for some people.
Location: Walk along St. Denis for many great dining options. Shopping on St. Catherine. Biodome. Mont Royal Park. Notre Dame Basilica. Cirque de Soleil.
First time to Montreal. Mother/daughter trip to celebrate high school graduation. Glad to have been pre-warned about the location above the sex shop. Really not a big deal. The city is very safe....even in the heart of downtown. We never felt insecure. This location gave us the opportunity to walk nearly everywhere we wanted to go. With a lesson from the front desk staff, we also became adept at using the wonderful public transportation system. This hotel is not luxurious, but our room was so spacious. Really a studio apartment including kitchen and laundry. It was very clean and air conditioning made the room very comfortable. Staff was very accommodating when we asked to leave our bags in storage while we did some last minute shopping after checking out. We spent 2 nights here and 2 nights in Old Montreal which was a fantastic way to split out time and maximize our Montreal experience.
