“Convient location”
I like the location of the hotel but I felt the interior and the exterior were mismatched. Beautiful old exterior with modern interior. As in previous reviews the halls were dark to the point of dangerous and the rooms were a sort of cheesey acrylic masquerading as modern. The white fur chair had a brown discolored head rest and furnishings were a little care worn. Internet is a fairly steep extra charge which can add up for guests crossing the border from the states-Many wireless company charge over 2.00/minute for data roaming which means you have to go with the hotels WIFI. Rooms were very clean, staff was very nice. Limited room service menu (especially for breakfast) and energetic bar scene in the lobby on a few nights. Fairly convient location but it was a little noisey in the mornings. Good basic restaurant next to hotel but not affiliated with it. Major attractions were a little bit of a walk but manageable for us.
“Great location for both Old Town & Downtown Montreal”
The Hotel St Paul was excellent for sightseeing from their location. All of Old Montreal was accessible by foot and most historic sights were within walking distance. The Metro was easily available as well and we were able to walk to the main downtown shopping district. The hotel is contemporary minilmalism and well maintained. The staff was attentive, friendly and helpful.
“Modern Minimalism in Old Montreal”
I love modernism, and admittedly the minimalism of our room struck me as a bit too stark. However, I warmed up to the room quickly, and loved the high ceilings and brightness of the room, which was very clean (including the bathroom, which is key for me). The staff were very friendly & helpful. The location is very convenient, on the western edge of beautiful Old Montreal, and a 5 min walk to the Square-Victoria Metro stop. Also a stone's throw from a great breakfast place, Le Cartet.
“Nice Hotel at great location”
Nice hotel, beautiful building from outside, very nice and modern inside. Great location, lots of restaurants, cafes on St. Paul Street and in the close neighborhood. I highly recommend St. Paul Hotel to anyone planning to visit Montreal.
“Old Montreal Success”
my wife and i booked a trip on short notice to montreal and chose the st. paul on the advice of a friend. I'm so glad we did, as i was about to book at the W or the Hilton, which are close to Old Montreal but not right in it. The St. Paul puts you right out on in the middle of old montreal, surrounded by great restaurants and close to the old port. the staff was fantastic in recommending restaurants and areas of the city to visit. a great experience overall and i would definitely recommend the St. Paul.
“First rate Montreal experience”
The Hotel St. Paul provides an excellant experience for visitors to Montreal. It is located in the heart of the old city and has easy access to public transportation for visiting other neighborhoods. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I also highly recommend the restaurant in the hotel.
“Long-time visitor to Montreal; first time at Hotel St. Paul”
Very hip hotel at fringe of Old Montreal. Continental breakfast and parking included in price...nice touch.
“Excellent hotel”
Excellent hotel in a great location. Rue St. Paul is around the corner and has many resturants and galleries.
“The St. Paul is great.”
We stayed for just one night, but everything was great. The staff was very helpful, and gave us an upgraded room. The location is also very convenient for walking the Old City.
“Perfect hotel and perfect location”
We stayed at the St. Paul from August 9-13, 2009. We were extremely happy and impressed with both the quality and location. The front desk were courteous and knowledgeable about their city. The continental breakfast was wonderful and it went from 6:30 until 10:30, great for those late nights! The location was perfect for walking along both the streets of the Old City and Port, taking in many of the museums, and the buses and underground Metro were within blocks of the hotel. We were in Room 514 and heard no noise and the bed was comfortable as was the ability to control the air temperature. I loved the fantastic soaking tub which was a welcome treat after a long day of walking. Bravo to Expedia for having this hotel as one of their choices for Montreal.
