Good location... Place for teens

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: the cleanliness
Cons: Definitely the breakfast and the staff serving breakfast
Location: China town and old port is within walking distance.
Good access to and from the airport. Good access to Old MBontreal and large no of restaurants. Clean room. OK staff. Both complimentary and cooked breakfast left a lot to be desired. I noticed few business or mature crowd. Must pay for parking. Ideal for budget travelers. Biggest peeves breakfast and the size of the shower.

Toxic smell

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Location, staff friendliness
Cons: The should not provide rooms with toxic smell to customers. Dangerous.
I had booked the hotel for 2 nights in June and overall the rooms were clean and location of the room was perfect. The staff was friendly. However, the room that was assigned to us had a weird toxic smell in it that came from the newly replaced carpets. The smell was extremely strong especially when entering the room. My husband got an allergic reaction and we requested a room change. They gave us another room that smelled just as bad. Finally the people at the reception were able to find us rooms that had the carpet replaced a longer time ago. The smell was still there but very mild, so we were able to get a good rest for the second night.

Good base for exploring old Montreal.

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: Proximity to old Montreal, Chinatown, Harbor, restaurants, shopping, and a metro station. No cab or car needed. Continental breakfast was okay.
Cons: Room decor could be updated.
Location: Chinatown at the end of the block. Place Jacques Cartier/Old Montreal <5 minutes walk.
Hotel staff was excellent, bilingual, and provided us with maps and other information. We arrived early before check-in and they kept our luggage in locked room for us. They also did that for us after checkout for a few hours before our flight. Room was small "European style", and a little dated, but we were only there to sleep anyway, so it was acceptable. With Chinatown, Old Montreal and the harbor right outside, the hotel was good value.

Great location, but that's all

Posted Jun 12, 2014
The room was tiny and dirty. The plumbing was not very functional. They gave us bunk beds and an extra tiny single bed. We thought we were getting one bed, the did nothing for us when we complained. The coffee pot was disfunctional.

Very close to Chinatown and Old Montreal

Pros: Location
Rooms are very small, so don't expect a lot of room to stretch out; wireless Internet works but is very slow.

Parting words, "Worst hotel experience ever!"

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Decent location.
Cons: Someone needs to just shadow all the staff here and look at the establishment as if they were staying there and they'll see what needs improvement.
Location: Old Montreal is near by and there are lots of cool restaurants, bars, and buildings to see.
To start off with I could not check in until after 4pm. Not great after taking a red eye flight and being in meetings all day. The room's floor was disgusting and I literally laid my towels on the floor so I would feel comfortable walking around. I was woken up at 3:30am with 45 minutes of incessant banging next door to find out the maintenance guy was trying to break into the room for the patrons. 45 minutes with a chisel and hammer in hand!! When I called to the front desk no one seemed to care. The included breakfast had one healthy option; cut up oranges. Other than that, it was like desert for breakfast and gross. The staff seemed too busy to really provide any level of customer service. The WiFi was ridiculously slow. When I discussed my first day of disappointment with the front desk I was told they couldn't do anything for me because I prepaid with Expedia. Since I was leaving early the next day they offered to prepackage a meal for me, and when I went to pick it up the other front desk staff treated me like I was an idiot for asking for the food I didn't even want. It was suggested by another staff member as the one nice gesture I received. After discussing it for 10 minutes they figured it out but of course it was disgusting prepackaged sweets so I left it. My toilet took 4 flushes (with minimal waste) to work and I couldn't get change for the bus I needed to take to get to the airport at 6 in the morning when nothing else is open. Worst experience ever!

Urban hiking

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Had to hike 5 blocks with heavy suitcase because streets were closed on both sides of hotel for some Friday night bike riding event. Room was spartan but seemed clean. However, it had a strong odor. I went down and asked about it and the clerk was "too busy" to even answer my question. She was actually pretty snotty. Ran the ac all night and the smell went away. Shower stall in bathroom was awkward to use. Neighborhood is questionable - a block from an "adult" entertainment zone
