Wonderful building and locationPosted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: The room was incredibly large, the bed was comfortable and the room well maintained.
Cons: The room cards were overly sensitive, in the few days we were there we had to have them reset because they stopped working multiple times each.
Location: Old Montreal has a plethora of shops and attractions like the Notre-Dame Basilica as well as cafe's galore.
The building and the location were great. It was very close to the sights we wanted to see in Old Montreal. Most of the staff was accommodating and pleasant however there were some that really needed to work on their customer service skills. The evening staff was always awesome, they were always pleasant and were happy to assist us when we had questions or requests. They even had umbrella's to rent on a very rainy evening. We found that in Montreal in September nothing really started happening until after 11am and picked up in the evenings most of all with lights adorning the buildings and street performances.

Great part of the cityPosted Sep 11, 2014
Cons: The only downside (due to the nature of its being a boutique hotel) -- no room service; but everything else makes of for this!
Just outside the Old Port of Montreal, great part of the city, easy walking. Like living in a museum. Rooms are beautiful; staff is friendly, professional and goes out of its way to make your stay perfect. I come to Montreal every summer for the past 5 years and always stay here.

Nice in Old MontrealPosted Sep 10, 2014
Pros: The staff and the beauty of the room.
Cons: The WiFi service, while included in the price, was slow and intermittent.
Location: Great location!
From the moment we arrived we were met by professional and friendly people. The room was on the lobby level and had a distinctive European feel. Within easy walking distance to the river, shops and dining.

Excellent, full-service hotelPosted Sep 7, 2014
Pros: - location, staff courtesy, valet, room service - rooms uniquely decorated, large, comfortable - easy check-in and check-out process
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: We were there for a wedding so didn't get around to do too much. Walked around and found some lovely restaurants in the evening.
This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. It's on the expensive side, but well worth it: staff were friendly and always professional. Valet service was very helpful and we only had to wait about 10 minutes for the car to be brought around (not a big deal - called from our room so it was outside waiting for us when we got there). Room service was the usual high-priced affair but food quality was excellent and you get plenty. The rooms were excellent: very large, probably in part due to the very high ceilings. Great art work. Very comfortable, and our room had a whirlpool tub that was great after a long day. Location was also excellent, and close to some wonderful restaurants. The only minor downsides were 1) the elevator broke for several hours, and we found this out on our way back from a wedding. Climbing stairs in heels and wedding gear was not easy but since it is a small hotel, it is a minor inconvenience; and 2) some confusion at the front desk re: room service. one person said it was available, and when I called back another person said it wasn't. A quick request that they call the kitchen to confirm cleared everything up. Overall, a great experience. We'll certainly look at staying again when we're in the area.

Short, but amazing visit to Old Montreal.Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: The LHotel was in the perfect location for what we were seeing and doing. Very central and not far from the main attractions and great restaurants.
Location: Great location and just around the corner from the Basillica. We did lots of walking and saw everything we wanted to in a couple of days.
Spent 2 days in Old Montreal - first time in Quebec. Loved the history and the walking. Got addicted to the maple candy. We had fabulous meals and overall great time. Tried Fois Gras for the first time - pretty good. Took cabs to a few places instead of renting a car. Good decision! The hotel staff were very nice and gave us good advice for restaurants. They gave us a map with directions when we needed it. The fact that alot of the hotels and restaurants were historically used as something else was interesting. We do not speak French and everyone was able to communicate in English. This made our trip very enjoyable.

The hotel was in a great location. The room was spacious but I was disappointed that the art in our room was very sparse. Also, there were stains on the carpet, the AC was a bit too loud. They could have put a tray on top of the fridge to hold all the coffee things. And a soap holder in the bathroom. The pillows sound like they are still wrapped in plastic. I also wished they had a hot breakfast. On Monday morning at 5am, the street was very noisy with trucks backing out and people yelling. But it was ok, the room was clean and the supplies were replenished daily. The greatest thing about it was that it was close to everything in the old city.

A place in the right place with personalityPosted Aug 20, 2014
Location: The locals have made the old city a big-time tourist destination - and they've done it extremely well. Downtown, of course, one has the modern city.
LHotel would be hard to beat for the rate we got (under $200 US with all taxes, etc.) It's just a couple of blocks from the Victoria Metro stop on one side and the best of the old city on the other. It has the idiosyncrasies of an old building retrofitted as a hotel, but the retrofit is so good that they give it charm and individuality rather than requiring any functional compromise. The staff could not have been more pleasant. Our room had a high ceiling, lots of space, a bathroom down a hall (minimizing noise), refrigerator and Heurig coffeemaker (but no microwave, oddly; still, we always carry a small immersion heater).

Artsy HotelPosted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: location, location, location
Cons: More items added to breakfast buffet, a little pricey for what was being served
Location: A lot of filming done right in front of hotel, historic sites, underground city, churches, restaurants and china town
Right in old city, close to everything...Beautiful art hanging in all hallways along with sculptures threw out hotel. Great stay and would stay there again
