Fantastic location!

Pros: I loved everything about this hotel. I loved the room, the bar, the overall atmosphere.
Cons: I found the bathroom to be a bit small and the shower was outdated. The shower head could definitely be upgraded.
Location: Location is amazing and there is so much to see and do in the immediate vacinity.
From start to finish, our stay at LHotel was fantastic. The hotel is located in the heart of Old Montreal, close to restaurants and an easy walk to any of the sites in Old Montreal. There is a fabulous Boulangerie for breakfast in the morning just across the street if you choose not to have breakfast at the hotel. Customer service was wonderful, all the staff were able to make great tour and restaurant recommendations. The room was gorgeous and well appointed. Highly recommend this hotel, and will definitely stay again.

Pros: Loved the smiling faces of all employees a very relaxing stay. Yan very knowledgeable. Enjoyed to hear the history of LHotel from the staff.
Cons: the maid could have been more attentive to basic needs. For a 2 night stay she failed to replaced glasses for drinking water & toilet paper
Location: Great location visit Notre Dame
Very comfortable beds, beautiful artwork, love the knives artwork in the dining area @ continental breakfast. Everyone well tipped except the maid. Was not about to call front desk for toilet paper result maid zero tip!!! VERY thankful that EXPEDIA recommended LHotel very clean too!

Pleasant stay in Montreal.

We had an enjoyable stay at l'Hotel Montreal. The staff were courteous and knowledgeable and the location was excellent. We liked the room, the art collection and the funky vibe. The breakfast could be more interesting though.

Winter in Montreal

Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: The spaciousness and warmth of the rooms were a pleasant surprise.
Location: Close walking distance to key sites such as cathedral. We enjoyed and fully recommend Papillion Blue, a Chinese restaurant only a few doors away.
Two families of four (18 yo+ older teenagers) booked 4 rooms, one of which was a suite so that we could get together of an evening. The rooms and spaciousness gave us all nice break with lots of breathing space mid way through our 5 week trip. The staff were always helpful as well as friendly and the facilties fully met our needs. The hotel is in close walking distance to many of the key sites with great family restaurants close by.

A great boutique hotel

Posted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: Everything.
Cons: If the owner could be persuaded to buy and display a few Monets and other impressionists, I would be even happier. Or at least a Klimt or two?
Location: As I wrote above, it's near the old city. That means the port, the Basilica, many centuries-old buildings now converted to other uses, etc.
We stayed only overnight, but we wished for more. The hotel is in an 1840 building (a former bank), which is stately; but inside, the personal modern art collection of the owner (who also lives in the hotel) is displayed on every floor and in every room. It includes works by Chagall, Rauschenberg, Warhol, Miro, and other acclaimed modern artists. When we indicated an interest in a particular artist, Mr. Gallardo, the General Manager, came in the elevator to show us where those works were displayed. He and the other staff members were friendly, accommodating, and helpful. In addition, the hotel is within easy walking distance of the old city, with its many good restaurants, art galleries, and stores. We've stayed in boutique hotels in many parts of the world; L'Hotel is one of the best we've ever experienced.

Very friendly hotel staff, one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in at a hotel, very unique hotel, and a great location in Old Montreal.
