The room was clean and comfortable. The Hotel was in walking distance to Notre Dame and old Montréal. Subway stations are nearby as well..

The location of the property is ideal. We were upgraded to a larger room on the 5th floor on the rue Saint-Jacques and side, it was wonderful. It was spacious, nicely decorated and had a seating area and gas fireplace. We had no issues with heat or hot water as I read in some reviews. The down fall there is a club Lola, Lola, Lolita on rue Saint-Jacques and when it ends they all hang out in the street for hours and the noise level is insane and travels up to the room. It was not conducive for a good nights sleep.

Our stay at Hotel Place d’Armes was excellent. It’s centrally located and everything is at walking distance. The staff was friendly, the room (upgraded which was great) was large, comfortable and clean. We will definitely come back when we go back to Montreal.

The experience of staying at Hotel Place d'Armes in Montreal is nothing short of extraordinary. This centrally located establishment is in the heart of Vieux-Montréal, steps away from all major attractions. From the Notre Dame basilica to the fantastic boutiques and restaurants, everything is just a block away. The hotel's room, lobby, and dining areas are well-situated, clean, and beautiful, and the amenities are exceptional. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure that your stay is pleasant and wonderful. The valet, greeters, receptionist, concierge, and maids all deserve a 5-star rating for their excellent service. This is truly the best hotel in Montreal!

I can’t think of anything more I could’ve wanted out of my stay at Hotel Place D’Armes. If and when I return to Montreal I will never stay anywhere but here. The staff, amenities, VIP perks were just a few positive points but the location was absolutely PERFECT!! I had the best stay here.

From the moment we pulled up till we pulled away, the staff was amazingly helpful. We valet parked the car and all our things were brought to our room while I checked in and looked over the room. The cost to valet park was in line with other cities where we have parked overnight. Customer service is clearly a high priority. The person who brought up our things asked if we had what we need before he left us. We mentioned more towels for the kids and bedding for the pull out couch/bed. When the front desk saw us leave for dinner, they had the pull out couch/bed set up for the kids and more towels in the room before we returned. Like magic. The room and bath were both big and modern. All the furniture and fixtures seemed newer. It’s right on Place d’Arms which is a little set back from the bustle of old port, so it’s quieter. We would definitely stay here again.

Property its self is gorgeous and located in the middle of everything where old meets new. Within walking distance to Rue St Paul with tons of dinning options, and right across street from the famous Notre Dame Cathedral. Staff was very friendly, helpful and always with a smile. We were accommodated with an early check in and upgraded to an executive suite thanks to our VIP status. Room was very spacious, clean and room service was offered twice a day. Would definitely come back and stay at this hotel next time we visit Montreal.

Great hotel in most every aspect except for the street noise. A late night club across the street and a fire station one block away made for some noisy nights. Double glazed, sound proof windows would make this a perfect hotel.

My four day break in Montreal was ruined by cold weather and what appears to be a central policy to save money on heating as none of the room heating controllers seemed to be able to be set above 71F which is too cold for my tastes. That combined with a broken bed that caused a coffeecupo to slip off when placed on it and fireplace vstyle heaters that didn't work and I can't say I would ever recommend staying here. When we arrived the Junior Suite we were booked had a window left open and in -10C weather was fee=zing. Despite setting the heating to maximum after two hours it was still too cold to take off our coats even after the maintenance guy had checked the fireplace heater. On complaining, we were upgraded to an Executive Suite with a better view but again the heater did not work, and the central heating would not go above 71F. And the bedframe was broken. On leaving I made my complaints known once more and was given free parking worth a whole $170CAD. This did not make up for our ruined weekend or my girlfriends cut foot from the coffee cup that slide off the broken bed nightstand. I won't stay there again.

Great stay. Staff went above and beyond to make us all feel comfortable and make our young kids feel welcomed. One of the housekeepers, Pamela, left notes for our kids with little pictures on them. This really made the stay special for them. Hotel location is perfect. Edge of Old Port, stones throw away from Chinatown, and across from a Metro stop. Will stay again.

Excellent staff, restaurant is really good. Booked a superior room this time which was nice enough but prefer the classic room we had on our previous stay. Location is great however light sleepers beware especially at weekends. Our stay was spoilt a little by the noise coming from the bar across the road from our room which went on until 4am.

We really liked staying at Place D'Armes. It has an old world feel to it, but it's updated in all the right ways. The rooms were clean and comfortable with a bright clean bathroom with a great shower. High ceilings and wood floors distinguish the hotel from any chain hotel out there. Everyone was really nice. The restaurant was pricey, but worth it. The valet parking was easy, even when we just had to grab something out of the car. The location was perfect; it's right at Notre Dame which is a sight to see and also a great landmark for navigating around the city. Walking around Vieux Montréal was easy since the hotel is right there. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel!

Absolutely wonderful experience! Top notch staff & service, lovely hotel, excellent concierge! Honestly, one of the best hotel stays we’ve ever had. They upgraded our room, sent champagne and dessert for my birthday, and just did everything right. Exceptional!!

The rooms, restaurants, gym--all the facilities are excellent: spacious, well-appointed, with an eye to Montréal's history. The location can't be beat; it's a five minute walk to the Place d'Armes and the beautiful, historic Baslica in Vieux Montréal. The best of all, and what will have us coming back to stay again, is the people who work there. We felt so welcomed and cared for. The people at the front desk, the concierge, and the valets recognized us, were interested in us and our experiences, and did so much to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. I want to mention especially the waiter in the Brasserie, Gavin: he is very special. The first night we went there to eat, the restaurant was suddenly flooded with customers. Although he was the only waiter on duty, he was infinitely patient, infinitely cheerful, infinitely attentive. I don't know how he did it! He made our dining experience lovely. Because of him, we returned to eat there on the last night of our stay in Montréal. All in all, we had a marvelous time and we will definitely stay in the Hôtel Place d'Armes again.
