Easy access to hotel and room

Posted Jan 29, 2015
One of my favorite hotels in downtown Montreal. One short block north of Ste Catherine Street, across the street is Peel Metro station. No need for car, since the hotel doesn't have self parking available. And Montreal is a small island and the Metro is much better than Toronto's. The room is very clean, with a Keurig coffee machine. Very easy and fast access from street to elevator to your room. Next time will definitely try the outdoor heated pool. Two blocks south to Rene Levesque Blvd and the 747 express bus to the airport. No need to cab it. Save money. The complimentary asian apple pears are great. Just wish one bottle of water was included. Room has lamps that can be dimmed, and for a charge, a stocked bar fridge and chocolates. Spadiva is across the street and the cineplex is one block south. Overall, cleanliness is the utmost importance. There was no dust, hairs or any other findings in the room. Thank you hotel Le St. Martin, keep up the great work. Hopefully one day you can have self parking facilities available.

Nice hotel

Posted Jan 27, 2015
It is clean it is comfortable enough but room is small even an upgraded room. The fireplace isn't really functioning one just a few fake flames without any heat. Linens and towels are a bit tired. Stayed in all the four star Montreal hotels it is average there are nicer ones and poorer quality ones with this somewhere in the middle. A good special or low season rate makes it worthwhile but I wouldn't pay full price.

Chambre très propre, personnel courtois. Excellente location au coeur de la ville. Canaux d'aération bruyant.

St-Martin The (Slightly) Peculiar .....

Posted Jan 8, 2015
Pros: The small but lovely heated outdoor pool on the second floor, which staff was willing to open at pretty much any time past its regular hours.
Cons: The acclaimed restaurant was closed over Christmas holidays. Hotel staff, however, was very helpful in finding alternative locations for breakfast.
Location: Good shopping area, close to 747 STN bus stop (airport bus, get off at Peel). At airport, get at 1 -3 day transit card (much cheaper!).
Lovely hotel with some quirks This is by no means a negative review--the title is merely pointing out that the hotel has some idiosyncrasies. Crammed against the west corner of an otherwise empty lot east of the intersection between Rue Metcalfe and Boul. de Maisonneuve Let St-Martin stands alone as if shunned by other buildings (not a disadvantage since this means daylight for and views from all rooms). Passing through the small but inviting lobby with its large fireplace one reaches the elevator which will take you to your floor—and only your floor—if you remember to swipe your key card against the card reader. The rooms have their own idiosyncrasies. Most notable are large windows between bedrooms and bathrooms—whether to let daylight in or watch each other shower is not clear (fortunately the windows have shutters on the outside, allowing to restore privacy). Safes are in the bathrooms--just about the humidity level in which you want to store your electronics and travel documents. It wasn’t always entirely clear what the interior decorator was thinking: my colleague’s bathroom had a towel rack mounted right (2 - 3”) above the toilet tank. These quirks amused more than they offended—mostly since everything else was near perfect. The rooms are lovely and spacious, the beds about the most comfortable that I have slept in at a hotel for a long time. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly without exception.

lovely hotel close to the centre of town

Posted Jan 6, 2015
Pros: Location and facilities
Cons: doors of rooms definitely need to be thicker to reduce noise :(
Location: close to shops, few blocks walk from old Montreal
Nice hotel, with good facilities, close to centre of town and shops.restaurants etc. My only gripe is that the doors of the rooms are paper thin so you can hear every person talking in the corridor or slamming doors right outside of your room. Becomes an issue when people get home in early hours of the morning and have loud conversations right outside. Doors need to provide more filtration from external noise.
