dorm hotelPosted May 4, 2015
Pros: quiet, at least for our night of stay, washroom are clean
Cons: nothing really, as i said these are student dorms, not hotel rooms, they never should turn dorms into hotel rooms, not for more then 20 bucks a night
Location: Well, it's Montreal downtown, so there are quite a few things to see and do
Well, sorry guys, but just like most of your other reviewers are saying, this is basically what University of Montreal decided to do: turn some its student dorms into hotel rooms, so beside the fact that dorm rooms will NEVER be able to look even remotely like a hotel room, we never even got a room in the condition depicted in those pictures posted for this so called hotel, the painting was dull, old vynil tiling for the floor, a very hard bed, musty smell of the room (goes away if you keep the windows open, though), and of course the other "amenities" typical of a student dorm building, like shared livingrooms, bathrooms and so. But, given the fact that we checked in at almost midnight and left early in the morning, we really didn't need anything more then that, a bed to lay down for couple of hours. Part of all this was my fault because i tried to find a hotel in Montreal in couple of minutes so i didn't pay a proper attention to what i was getting myself into. So, all in all, i suggest that for the future customers, either make a little note that actually these are student dorm rooms, or simply take them out of your hotels list.

extremely disappointingPosted Aug 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
we lasted a half hour, after finding we couldn't get into the building even after trying to call the number at the phone outside the electronic doors. someone leaving opened the door, allowing us access. once inside, seeing that the 'other bed' was actually a drawer pullout mattress, and having had to pay for the in-room internet, of which we could only rent one cable for the two of us, as well as paying extra for the parking, we decided to leave, expecting full well that we wouldn't get a refund.

budget hotelPosted Aug 15, 2014
Cons: We arrived at the hotel in middle of the night. Website said they have 24 hour reception, but nobody was there when we arrived, so we have to wait.
Room is tiny, but reasonably clean. Conveniently located, close to the subway station. This is a cheapest hotel I found during the summer season, so I did not expect a lot. Overall, I recommend this hotel for budget travelers who do not expect a lot.

Great crash pad! Value stayPosted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, sufficient cleanliness of the community bathroom
Cons: Free Wifi offered in the rooms
Location: Walking distance from the Metro Subway and late-night bus stop. Beautiful area to stroll around and local restaurants about 20 minutes away (walking)
For $45 a night and being so close to the Metro Subway and relatively near downtown Montreal, it's not too bad of a deal if you don't mind using a community shower and bathroom (sufficiently clean) and a tiny (and I mean TINY) room. I do wish they offered free Wi-Fi in the rooms (only in the downstairs common area/lobby) but then I would only recommend this to someone who does not plan to spend too much time in the hotel. I will say that with this being my first visit to Montreal, there is sooo much to do in a very beautiful and friendly city that you really shouldn't have to spend much time in your room.

Dorm RoomPosted Aug 12, 2014 on Hotels.com
To start, the attendant at the front desk didn't mention that the building where my room was located was locked and there was a machine to swipe the key to unlock it. Luckily, someone familiar with the university showed me and told me where the elevators were located. When I got into my room, i turned on the light and saw a bug scurry by on the floor. I had never been in a dorm room until then, so I was a little surprised at how small the space was. The bed sheets were rather scratchy, and the foam mattress and pillow were not comfortable. It was rather hot in the room, but with no A/C, I opened the window all the way. All this aside, I arrived to the hotel at 1 am after a concert and checked out at 9 am. The room was sufficient for what I needed, which was a cheap place to crash for the night. It was exactly what I expected for such a cheap rate, and will probably choose this hotel again when I come back next year for Heavy Mtl.

Nice room for brome studentsPosted Aug 11, 2014
I was pleased by the low price, the proximity and the services offered. I was less pleased by the room service offered only once a week, the lack of wifi in the rooms and the size of the room (very small). Overall, I loved it enough to Côme back next summer when I'll go to Osheaga again!!
