Nice hotel in residential area

Posted Sep 1, 2013
Pros: - Clean - Staff was very helpful - Room was a fair size - Within walking distance to buses/metro - Good price
Cons: - Parking is hard to find
Location: Quaint, upscale residential area, walking distance to metro and buses, nice park near by
We knew going into this trip that it's not going to be five-star quality, just because of the fact that it's on a college campus.. however, the staff was impeccable with accommodations. We were able to check in for our short, 4 day trip to Montreal, and our room was high up on the 11th floor giving amazing views of Mont Royal. The staff was bilingual and gave us advice on how to get to where we wanted to go and although it's not in walking distance to downtown, it is walking distance to buses and metro stations where you can easily get downtown in 10 minutes. It's a shared bathroom, which may seem like a hassle, but truly it's not. The whole time we were there I saw a couple people once on the floor and that was going out on a Saturday night. The place is clean and has all your simple basics that you would ask for; a closet, desk, large bed. It's how you make it and personally, we had a great experience that we even said next time we travel to Montreal we'll stay there once again. How can you beat a bargain like this place?

excellent for the budget conscious

Excellent budget hotel especially when combined with a 3 day metro pass. The station is only a few hundred metres away.

Great location. Everything else disappointing

Did not realize that there was a shared bathroom or paid parking. Great location, but overall, with all the extras we could have stayed in a nicer place for the same price.

It's only good for late spring

Posted Jun 30, 2013
Too humid for the summer b/c there's no A/C. Be prepared if you don't mind using the fan all night. It's more like a dorm room, sharing bathroom, restroom with everyone else.Parking is definitely a nightmare, you have to drive like five, six blocks before finally reaching the parking destination. Moreover, you have to find your way back to your dorm room, given that you don't get lost. Location is great, though, right on the campus. My experience is, you get what you pay for.

Not bad for a short stay

Posted Jun 17, 2013
If you book at Les Studios Hotel, don't expect the comfort of a 4-star hotel. This is an old university dormitory transformed in an unexpesive hotel. I think that some rooms have a private bathroom, but not mine. My room was very small, with "thin" walls, so even if others were careful, I was still hearing the noise of the doors closing and the toilets flushing... But the room and the shared bathroom were very clean and after all I had a pleasant stay! This hotel is close to a subway station, in a quiet and pretty neighborhood. There is a parking lot next to it, but it is hard to find, so you better find a parking along a street to got check in and get your tickets there for the parking lot of the campus. I would recommend this hotel to my friends, but after explaining them all the pros and cons. I think that for somebody that is busy all day somewhere else and is looking for a place to sleep next to a subway station, this is a good place.

Great for the price.

Posted Jun 16, 2013
Pros: The price
Cons: Shared bathroom.
Location: Location is good for using the Metro. Didn't see any stores nearby.
Great if you want a really cheap room in Montreal. Its a dorm. So it has concrete block walls, hard flooring (no carpet) and a communal bathroom down the hall. The showers have great water pressure and were clean. As were the hallways. The floor in our room was not. The mattress was not great, or the pillows. It is close to two Metro stations. What do you expect for $70 or less a night?

F1 weekend

Posted Jun 16, 2013
Pros: Close to metro for F1 week
Cons: Purchasing tickets for breakfast
Location: Excellent
Clean, we'll maintained, close to Metro, Should include breakfast in cost of room. The process for breakfast was confusing which resulted in delays.
