Good location.

When we booked this hotel One of the most important amenities of hotel for us was the indoor pool and spa service. But when we wanted to use pool and spa they told us that it is out of service for unnual maintenance schedule. They suggested us to use pool of another hotel which has 10 min walk from their hotel. 10 min walk in Montreal with -12 degree!!!!

Ho - sorry your trip coincided with our required pool servicing - I assure you it was not intentionally planned to negatively affect you. The option to use the pool at our competitors hotel one block away was to offer at least an option to consider. I am sorry this did not meet your needs.

Centrally located hotel - keys need updating.

Posted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: Location, comfort
Cons: Staff helpfulness Keys
Location: It is located Downtown and is connected to various other buidings and shopping malls underground which is handy in the winter.
I stayed at this hotel 7 years ago and was very pleased then so booked it again for my 2nd visit to Montreal. The receptionist I met on arrival was very friendly and helpful and allowed an early check in. The room was spacious and comfortable, however, there was no shower cap in the bathroom. A shower cap is something that I expect in a Marriott Hotel. On the morning of checkout before, my key got deactivated. I returned to my room after breakfast to discover that I could not gain access! I complained and a staff member from reception replaced it, however, no reason for its deactivation was offered. After checking out, I left my luggage and went out. Upon my return, I needed to use the bathroom. The (grumpy) bellboy who returned my luggage told me where the bathroom was but failed to advise me that I needed a key for access. The bathroom was a long walk away from reception, and I ended up walking there with my luggage only to discover that I couldn't get in! I then made my way to the concierge who gave me a key to use (insisting that I bring it back!) which did not even work. By that point (having made 2 return journeys to the locked bathroom with my luggage) I decided to simply leave for the airport and use the bathroom there! The toilets should perhaps be moved closer to the reception area and staff should be more helpful to guests. The keys need to be reprogrammed/replaced.

Nice & Convenient to the Bell Center.

The heater system was noisy like a "running vehicle"! It made following asleep more difficult ! However the front desk assisted us with moving us into a different room ! We also received vouchers for the breakfast buffet !

Close to Bell Centre for Canadiens v Bruins game

Stayed there for my fiance's 40th birthday from Boston. Room was very clean and comfortable, and the concierge was very helpful. A little disappointed that there was no hot tub at the pool, but really nice gym!

Wonderful hotel with frequent sneaky hidden fees.

Posted Nov 10, 2014
Pros: The room view is spectacular on the city side.
Cons: Hidden fees.
Location: Great location, extremely close to downtown.
For a refridgerator, 30$. Room service food was standard, yet extremely over priced. Parking had 4 levels which were almost always completely full, spent 30 min every day trying to find a hidden spot in this garage, 12$ an hour to park at hotel.

Hello Emilt ... very sorry to read your stay was not as seamless as it should have been. It seems we could have done a better job of communicating to you the parking options including our valet service that would have streamlined your parking needs. I do hope you will reconsider us in the future and allow us to make your stay more pleasant.

Nice hotel close to everything

Posted Nov 7, 2014
Pros: Walking distance to everything.
Cons: None
Location: It's inside the metro station
The king size bed seems small, but the room was great thou just notice the bathroom is smaller than the usual Marriott hotel that we stayed in.

Classic Elegance and Comfort

Posted Nov 4, 2014
Pros: The cleanliness of the room. The view. The ability to sleep like a baby!
Cons: Less mundane service - more smiles, eagerness, willingness to greet new clients. Better parking prices ($23 is quite extreme).
Location: In the core of the downtown location. Great restaurants within walking distance, close to metro, cinema (Banque Scotia) and late-night entertainment.
This is not my first stay at the Marriott Chateau Champlain. I am inclined to always return because I know what to expect. Most importantly, for me, is cleanliness, which they continue to master. As a germ freak, I can advise you that this is the only hotel for which I allow myself to sit on the bed comforter. However, throughout the years, I must admit that the staff service is not quite what it used to be. I was surprised that the staff were not perfectly bilingual. As a bilingual Montreal resident, if I were to put myself in a tourist's position, I would not be pleased. However, they were efficient enough to have the basic "room" details conversation. On several occasions, I noticed staff was not as attentive to their guests as should be. I even spotted a few sending texts on their phones. The pool facilities could benefit from a remodel, but are still pleasant enough for a hotel stay. There is no jacuzzi and the "chaperone (employee)" lacked privacy for full enjoyment. Overall, I ma still very satisfied with this hotel and hope to return very shortly.

Pros: Price. Large room.
Cons: Parking on arrival was confusing.
Location: You have to accept a degree of walking by staying in this hotel. The center of gravity of this city is Sherbrooke..
Very helpful well trained staff. Lobby ambiance could be improved with more modern furniture.
