“Location”

Pros: One block from the arena, one block from St Catherine's, and right by the nightlife - can't really beat the location. The bed was really comfortable. Check-in was quick and friendly. $20 for overnight parking isn't too bad for a major city. Cons: Other than the beds being made, it didn't look like they cleaned the room. There was an open package of crackers, cough medicine, and milk on the table, stuff in the garbage, and the floor was clearly not vaccuumed. Overall, it wasn't bad for a place to crash for the night, but the messy room was a put off. I'd look elsewhere next time, but would stay here if I had to if I couldn't find anything better in the same price range.

“Great Location!”

The hotel was convenient to Crescent and was a reasonable walking distance to other interesting areas of the city. I would definitely stay here again.

Area recommendations
Although Crescent is a great street, the area on Saint Laurent, above St. Catherine is very charming. It has a great European feeling plus you pass the art areas along the way.

“Quite Decent Montreal City-Center Lodging”

Clean room, polite staff, convenient to St. Catherine and Crescent. Only issue: just one "public" computer with internet access in lobby; otherwise pricey wifi in rooms. I will consider Novotel Montreal Centre a "safe" choice if I return to the city.

Area recommendations
Montreal Old Town. Cool old architecture. Nice for stroll.

“disappointed”

Our stay was a tale of the good and the bad. On the plus side, the staff of the hotel was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely accomodating. We also had very comfortable beds that made sleeping a pleasure. On the down side the rooms we stayed in were in real need of an update. The carpet did not look clean and had "bubbled" under foot, so it was possible to trip on it. We also had stains on the seat of our couch that should be removed. Our curtain had a few wholes in it, so in all, the room had a very disheveled appearance that was not at all inviting. I do not believe I would return or recommend this hotel to anyone. We have stayed at another Novotel which was outstanding, so it amazed us that this one did not live up to our expectations.

Area recommendations
Old Montreal is not to be missed. Little Italy is also great for food, but a long way to get there.

“Good Value + Location”

Modern style and convenient location. Room we were assigned had some damage to it (rug stains, banged up AC cover, etc.), but was overall clean. Hotel staff were very helpful. Would stay here again.

“Will definitely stay here again”

Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Novotel Montreal. Excellent location, right near a metro stop as well as very short walking distance to pretty much everything you would want to see in downtown Montreal. Old Montreal was about a 20 minute walk, not bad at all. The hotel was clean, and very moderately priced considering the location as well as the overall decor and cleanliness. Montreal is a fantastic city and will definitely stay here again when I visit.

Area recommendations
Old Montreal is a must see. Despite the abundance of souvenier shops, it is still a\ gorgeous section of town. Beautiful building facades and delicious food, compliment this wonderful area. It also contains Notre Dame Basilica, one of the most breathtaking cathedrals in the entire world. A visit to Mont-Royal and a stroll down St. Catherine Street are definitely recommended as well.

“Solid hotel”

A solid hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Although this appears to be a 'business' hotel plenty of leisure travellers stay here too. This was my fourth trip. One feature that I appreciate is that after six you must use your key card to access the elevators to get to your room. It gives an added level of security, especially for solo travellers. However that is not to say that the neighborhood is unsafe, quite the contrary. But I must also add, this is not a frills or 5*hotel. It is a solid hotel, clean, affordable and good sized rooms.
