Montreal - expected more

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: breakfast was OK
Cons: pool - color was green
Location: close to University and some decent shopping
hotel isn't worthy of its star rating. really old and run down ... pool was green and couldn't seem to get hot water in the shower. Breakfast was OK which was a positive and in terms of location it is central which are probably the only positives ... parking in garage is dark, dingy and very tight for any vehicle larger than a mini really expensive!

Dear Hutch, We thank you for sharing your comments with us and other travelers. We are terribly sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. Our parking does have a limit of 5 feet 6 inches and we try as much as possible to make this clear on all our sites and our partners sites. It does however fit all cars and some mini SUVs. As for the rate, there is a charge for parking a vehicle everywhere downtown. Again we are sorry your stay wasn't to your satisfaction. We thank you again for your comments and we will try and bring corrective measures whenever possible. Sincerely,

Do not expect Marriott standards from this place.

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Location: Location is ok. Not recommended for jazz festival (30min walk)
I am pretty loyal customer and If I like the place I definitely come back. Well, The Marriott Residence Inn will not be on my list. The hotel price was a bit high. The breakfast ( You can eat it twice: 'First and a last Time'. Rooms are grey and appliances are old. If you do not care about all of the above and the price is acceptable you will be ok there.

Dear Mr Gary, We thank you for sharing your comments with us, we understand that the breakfast did not satisfy your needs; would it be possible to share more details, we are always open to new ideas and suggestion. We always try our best to accommodate our guest’s different needs. Our rooms got a facelift 2 years ago and our appliances were changed during that period, we are deeply apologetic that they seem old to you. Again, we apologize our property wasn’t up to your satisfaction. Sincerely, Management

OK in Montreal

Hotel was nice enough but disappointed with parking. We had to park our minivan 3 blocks away for the same price as underground parking.

Hit or miss

Posted Jul 5, 2014
We were there over the canada day long holiday. We booked a 2 bedroom apt. It was spacious, clean, and had a wonderful view. Staff were prompt, courteous and super friendly. However, the hotel amenities themselves are not so great. The bed mattresses were terribly uncomfortable. Also, be advised that One bedroom had an a/c unit, the other didn't. The room with the a/c had issues with the unit's cooling system. When we notified staff they changed it immediately- howver the new one was so noisy we couldn't get a goodnights sleep for the rest of our stay. Also, the bathtub was clogged all the time so u really couldnt wait to get out of it. Breakfast is generous but tasteless. You can always buy ur own food though. U will need to factor in 20$ per day if u have a big car/ truck for parking. Location is perfect though- walking distance to everything in downtown. I also have to reiterate that the staff were really wonderful. Oh, and the comments about the elevator are true. It does take forever. I would not return to this particular hotel primarily due to the a/c room/ bed experience.

Dear family of 5, Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us and other fellow travelers. We are terribly sorry the mattress wasn't to your comfort, we will be looking into this. Unfortunately, we do only have 1 a/c in the master bedroom however we do have a ventilation system in the second bedroom that connects to the master bedroom. In regards to parking, it is also 20$ a day for sedans that enter our underground parking. Again, we are terribly sorry for all the inconveniences you had during your stay with us. Best regards,

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of our room. Decent breakfast. Bit of a line at the waffle machine for my kids.

The room, food, and staff were great, as was the location. The only drawback was that the hotel used to be a residential building, and there are only 2 residential-grade elevators to serve 20 floors, so it often took a while to get an elevator. But that was a minor inconvenience considering everything else.

Marriott Member Pricing

Posted Jun 11, 2014
Price point extremely high for a regular Marriott Member. F1 race weekend would expect a little higher, but a pre-pay, no cancelation booking is offending to a regular Marriott customer.

Good on the outside but bones need work

Posted Jun 3, 2014
Great location, centrally located, great breakfast buffet, good decor, comfy beds but bones of hotel need work - noisy plumbing, slow elevators and my SUV did not fit in underground garage.
