Free parking!

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: FREE PARKING!
Cons: Its wifi is slow at night. Not too unbearable but not fast.
Free parking is the best for this hotel, though their parking ticket machine didn't work properly. You were supposed to just use your room key to get in and out, but it didn't work at the entrance. We ended up taking ticket when we went in and getting out free with our room key. Hadn't used it for this trip, but Metro is just right next to the hotel. Driving downtown from hotel is also very convenient too. The hotel is not particularly pretty but it's not bad either. And with its price free, big open-space parking, it's a good accommodation option!

Don't expect too much and you'll be fine

A bit dated hotel, but the room was clean. Had no problem with WiFi in the room. The hotel is just five steps away from Metro. One stop and you are on St. Helen Island. Two stops and you are on the other side. One more stop on another line and you are in downtown. Buy a 3 day metro pass if you are staying for 2 days or more and you will thank me. We didn't use any of the hotel facilities. We found that having breakfast in the city was a cheaper and more fun option for us. Had no problem with slow elevators as we were using them twice a day, on the way out and back in. If you are looking for a value-for-money hotel and have no expectations in mind then this hotel will serve your needs.

Great location.

Pros: Location.
Cons: Their billing!
Location: La Ronde, Old Montreal, Parc Jean Drapeau, etc.
Easy access to the Metro...minutes from La Ronde. My only concern is that I had to call them twice to reverse some charges on my Visa. I have no problem giving a deposit which I did upon arrival. The second day I noticed another charge (one night) along with the deposit. Called the front desk and they said it was an error and credited my Visa. Then I checked out on Monday morning. On Tuesday there was another charge for a one night stay on my Visa again. I called them again and they told me they will credit the amount back within 4 days. I don't think that is acceptable at all....if I would have not looked at my Visa I would not have noticed it...is that how they make money....i should add that I had paid my room in full at time if booking with Expedia.

credit card issues

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: convenient location, good value for pricy Montreal
Cons: Credit card policy needs to be consistent and staff trained better. Wifi in upper floors could be improved.
Location: Two stops on the Metro from downtown Montreal, four from Place d'Armes and Old Town.
The staff does not seem to have mastered the credit card arrangements. My Capital One card was not accepted by the desk at checkin since it was not embossed, an imprint was necessary and a photocopy of the card was unacceptable to them. I had to use a different card, which came with currency transaction fees. But on the next day, the desk clerk said I had NO credit card on file at all yet proceeded to take my Capital One card with no problem in payment for the breakfast. First time during an entire week in Canada I had a problem with this credit card. The hotel is very convenient to the Montreal Metro, has a very good breakfast (but a bit steep at 12 dollars), and provides free parking. The wifi was a bit inconsistent in quality.

Pros: Very close to the Longuiel metro station.
Cons: Wifi internet connection is very slow almost to the point of being unusable. There's no safe in the rooms. The swing lock on the door was very flimsy.
Hotei is located very close to a metro station which makes it convenient. Staff was acceptably nice. However, a poor internet connection, no safe in the rooms, and a toilet that didn't flush right marred the otherwise great experience.

Close to Montreal with really comfy beds

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: The comfy beds and location.
Cons: A fridge in the room and ice machines that worked.
Location: Close to metro and lots of little shops
Helpful staff with directions around town and how to get out of town! So close to metro it is easy to get to Montreal sans auto. Did get charged 3X for same room - working on getting that cleaned up.

Convenient location, that is all.

Room 1114, has the wallpaper peeling off the walls, noisy lights and a squeaky shower head. Every lamp in the room has to be turned on and off individually. The location was convenient but over priced. I will not be staying there again.
