"Excellent location"
Most helpful was location. We could not get GPS in Canada and location of the hotel was our light house. I wish lovely family taking better care and pride of what they own. Breakfast was small but I really appreciate toast with peanut butter and jelly along with coffee in the morning. It was cheapest hotel I can find in this area but in US for this money and similar area I would find much better deal.

"Great location, reasonable price"
The only negative thing I have to say is there was a ceramic tray holding shampoo etc. on a shelf behind the toilet. The shelf was slanting forward and even though we didn't knock it, the tray slipped to the floor and broke. I understand the bathrooms are being renovated so that is a good thing. Otherwise our stay was wonderful and considering there was a full kitchen, our next stay in Montreal will probably be there!

"Best location in town"
Efficient, comfortable and always a reliable address in Montreal. This is not an elegant small hotel but and efficient and comfortable place with a very nice and helpful staff. Within walking distance to many activities which is a must when it's cold out there!

For the past three years we have visited Montreal for a weekend in November. We have stayed at LHOTEL each year. It is a great location. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. The works of art add a unique flair and learning experience. We hope to return to Montreal for our weekend visits for years to come and will continue to stay at LHOTEL.

"Montreal surprise"
The hotel is located across from a gas station in downtown area of Montreal.. It looked like we had made a mistake. Inside it was beautifully designed, Staff was wonderful. They told us that the hotel had a disco on saturday nights and we didn't hear a thing. They recommended a bistro 2 blocks away and it was great.

"Great Hotel, Great Location"
My fiance and I were pleasantly surprised when we checked in at this hotel. Unlike some of the reviews we've read, this hotel turned out to be a great experience for us. The room is a bit small but has a very modern feel and it's very comfortable and cozy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They took the time to recommend sightseeing places and restaurants to go to, they even made reservations for us and walked us through the map patiently. This was very helpful for us since it was our first time in Montreal. The location of the hotel made it even more enjoyable for us. We were a walking distance from Old Montreal (port), the Basilica, and a happening area on Saint Catherine street. We barely had to use our car.

    Where to stay in Montreal

    Montreal Hotel Guide

Far from the sea, Montreal is an unusual island. At the confluence of the Saint Lawrence and Ottawa rivers, it is both a geographical and a cultural intersection, where river meets river, French meets English, and waves of cultural riches overlap leaving you with a myriad of things to do in Montreal.

Montreal takes its name from Mount Royal, which is the hill at the heart of the city. The park on the hill is the city's largest green space and it was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, who also designed New York City's Central Park. Stay at one of the downtown Montreal hotels to enjoy the spectacular views. The park's Kondiaronk Belvedere offers a postcard view of downtown Montreal, with its skyscrapers, bright lights, and lattice of roads. Take eye-catching pictures of this view and more on the Montreal photography tour while you are on your Montreal vacation.

    Some like it cool

How you spend your time in Montreal may be determined by the weather. The city gets colder than Moscow in winter and weather forecasts include wind chill, which might convince you to view the winter wonderland from a cozy bar with a roaring fire. Montreal resorts are equipped to entertain you on those chilling days. If you want to brave the cold, put on your warmest clothes and join the Montrealians as they indulge in wintery pleasures. During La Fête des Neiges (the snow festival), the Parc Jean-Drapeau is transformed into a vast snow and ice playground, and you can ski through the Mount Royal Park or ice skate at the Bonsecours Basin in the Old Port. Arctic temperatures are also a good reason to go shopping in Montreal's underground city, which contains over 2,000 shops. A flight to Montreal – or even a cruise - is worth discovering first hand, what this city has to offer during the cool and hot seasons.

    Some like it hot

With Montreal's busy festival calendar, there's always a unique time to visit the city. When the weather heats up in June and July, so does the music at Montreal's legendary jazz festival. Book your hotels in Montreal, Canada to get the best Montreal hotel deals for the best hotels in Montreal before they sell out. The city becomes a living, breathing jazz machine, with outdoor concerts, world-class musicians, and over two million enthusiastic listeners. July is also the time to secure a fountain-side spot for the Just for Laughs comedy festival.

See Montreal by bike and you'll gain a sense of its distinctive districts so you can pick out in which area you would like to stay next time you visit Montreal. Hotels in Montreal are ready in each and every part of town for you. Downtown, skyscrapers including the Stock Exchange Tower stretch high into the clouds, and the main shopping street Rue Sainte Catherine runs east to west through its center. Cross the cobbled streets of old Montreal and you'll find outdoor cafés, bohemian boutiques, and buildings which date back to the 17th century. Montreal hotels are nestled in-between it all. Eat the best bagels in the city in Mile End, a neighborhood as popular for its live music and art galleries as its bakeries. Montreal is recognized for its microbreweries, and has the longest licenses in the country, so there's plenty of time to sample some real ale. Night owls can take their luckiest Canadian loonies to the Casino de Montréal to play the slot machines and table games. Don’t hold back on car rentals in Montreal to discover the city’s outskirts, too.

The multinational fabric of Montreal's communities means that there's a huge array of cuisines to try, but you can't leave without tasting Quebec's famed concoction of chips, gravy, and cheese (or 'poutine', as it's known locally). It might not be a recipe you'll take home, but memories of this and all that you've seen in the city will be worth holding on to.
