Beautiful experiencePosted Nov 12, 2013
Pros: View, food, staff.
Cons: Maybe screens on the windows??? There were 2 in our party that had serious reactions to the mosquitos. I know the hotel does do what they can.
Location: Hotel takes you to a private beach. Large resort close by has many activities. Walk 20 minutes for groceries, ATV rental very close.
Beautiful views. Quiet. The staff went out of their way to accommodate. The restaurant food was delicious and reasonable. Snorkeling on the private island was a pleasurable addition to the experience.

Legends Resort in Moorea is a must-stayPosted Mar 4, 2013
Pros: The view, the swimming pool, the staff
Cons: Not enough amenities in the kitchen
This property offers the best views of Moorea, a professional and friendly staff. It was just perfect for us as a family. the villas are spacious, well designed, beautifully decorated and the spacious deck was a great place for meals and relaxation. The infinity pool is absolutely stunning!

Very ChilledPosted Jan 16, 2013
Pros: The privacy, the view and the villa
We had a great time at Legends. Having read some other reviews on the insects we came prepared only we never had any issue with them. The villa itself was in great condition and we used the kitchen to its full potential- self catering is the way to go. We visited their private island one day and did some snorkelling and sunbathing. It was great to get out on their boat and see the scenery. All the staff at Legends were very helpful, especially the women who worked at the front desk. We hadn't planned on hiring a car but after a few days we realised it is a neccessity. Walking the hill to your villa in the heat can really take it out of you! We had dinner one night at Villa de la Sens- Legends fine dining restaurant. The service, food and wine were exceptional. We never swam in the pool or ate in the cafe, but we did use the spa on our own deck- I was pleased it was not heated! Overall a very affordable and enjoyable experience.

Amazing views and Excellent StaffPosted Oct 14, 2012
This was the BEST part of our stay in Moorea. The staff treat you like family. We brought our 3 yr old son with us and we all had a ball. The villa was nothing short of AMAZING. Everything you need is there. If you need assistence the front desk girls are always there to help. I was sad leaving there because I felt like we were leaving our relatives :) I would recommend this place to couples or if you are travelling with children. Legends is a piece of paradise. You will NOT be disappointed!
Fantastic TimePosted Sep 16, 2012 on Hotels.com
Legends was a great resort to stay in. The staff are excellent as is the facilities. Being up on a hill gives you a great outlook, but it can be a pain to walk up. The staff are happy to whizz you around in their golf carts though, always with a great looking Tahitian smile. Having cooking facilities is a plus.... but there are also some great little restaurants within 5 mins drive dotted nearby. We found renting a scooter for 24 hours great value as it gives you mobility for sightseeing, shopping and groceries. Legends private island is also fantastic as it is located in a safe channel that many other activity providers use, meaning you get free access. We saw giant sting rays and more than 20 different types of coral fish. All in all, Legends is a great place for 2 or a small family.

Mountain retreatPosted Jul 18, 2012
Pros: Views, kitchen, privacy
Cons: having to hike up the hill from the shop with drinking water
We had the small villa with tropical view for 3 of us. It was a bit small but beautifully presented and having the kitchen was great. Without a car however the only store is down the hill and a short walk. It is the hike back up the hill with water and in the heat that is hard going. While the staff will drop you down the bottom of the hill, there is no way to call them from the bottom. The fitness centre and tennis court is also at the bottom of the hill, despite best intentions I didn't use it as it was so hot. There is a small but lovely infinity pool by reception. The air conditioned bedrooms were a big plus, though one of them broke down, they repaired it quickly. The dishwasher was also playing up. We had quite a bit of wind while we were there and this blows leaves and dust in from outside, but they do provide a broom etc. for you to use and housekeeping come each 3 days. all in all it was a lovely stay, though without a car you can feel quite isolated. Without a car and with children I would consider a resort on the flat, however for a romantic getaway or with a car and the ability to cook - definitely worth considering. Shame the spa pool on the deck isn't heated.

Legends is a wonderful resort tucked in the hills above the lagoon in Moorea, the breeze makes for a natural cooler and anti mosquito environment !!Service and staff are friendly and professional, its a fairly new hotel so offers much nicer up to date amenities compared to other Moorea hotles that are a little tired and jaded. Highly recommneded!

Pleasantly surprisedPosted Feb 25, 2012
Pros: The private beach motu the resort offers, the security on site, beautiful setting, and the fact they are "green", conscious about the environment.
Cons: No screens on the windows so the flying insects won't come in.
Location: On a hillside overlooking the beautiful turquoise waters and coral reefs. Beautiful.
Pleasantly surprised! The view we had from our 2 bedroom oceanview premium was everything and more, spectacular! The staff are very helpful, kind, and friendly, always a smile and met all our needs. We loved the fact it had it's own private motu beach we could taxi to by boat via the staff, the motu is absolutely beautiful, and beautiful scenery. Also just be sure to bring water and eats with you. But there is a small restaraunt establishment called the Coco Beach Snack Bar that serves lunch, drinks, etc. A Short 5 minute walk and eat and look at Moorea and then can pet the sting rays hanging around the shallows of the lagoon by the restaraunt. The room was very clean, decorated superbly. I liked the fact there was a kitchen, and washer and dryer for our convience. Great place for families, couples, everyone. The only small details I would say were there were no screens on the windows so when you needed to open them for ventilation at night especially when cooking or relaxing, enjoying the view, many flying insects would come in. That is why I gave room comfort a 4 and not a 5. Also the kitchen if fully furnished with dishes and all, but you have to supply your own soaps (only supply small amounts for both kitchen and washer/dryer). Also no blender to make smoothies. Otherwise, the place, location, security, views, were fantastic. Would go back again in a heart beat.

LOVE MOOREA!Posted Apr 25, 2011
The island was magical! Legends was a pretty good place to stay, aside from the massive amount of ants and surprise bugs ( which is pretty much unavoidable on the island anywhere you stay). Most of the people were very nice and accommodating. Make sure you speak French so you won't have much trouble getting around. I'd definitely recommend it! :) and the private motu was great for snorkeling!!!
