My wife and I love this hotel.

Posted May 6, 2014
Pros: We love this hotel. Very old and very clean. Lots of artifacts. Plus a good breakfast.
Cons: We love this hotel in the summer. The heating in the winter is deadly. Very cold. Be ready to crawl under the covers with your clothes on.
Location: It is right in the heart of everything.
The people are very accommodating, but non speak English. Some do understand it though.

We are glad you had a nice time with us in a Little town like Pátzcuaro is hard to have people who speak English during the whole time at the Hotel, but we are working on that. We are looking forward to have you with us again in our hotel in Pátzcuaro.

Quanit Antiue Hotel in ancient town

Posted Apr 19, 2014
Pros: Fit perfectly into the village ambience but most most amenities available
Cons: Shower felt like needles with low volume shower head. A higher quality hotel like this should do a bit better.
Location: Plenty
Easter weekend - lot of excitement and markets. Hotel is well done and reasonable. We experience a minor earthquake as we were leaving. Lots of ground movement. Most stayed calm and it was over in about 30 seconds. Apparently centered near Acapulco at 7.2.

great hotel, but there were a few kinks

Posted Mar 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is a wonderful old building with lots of character, in an excellent location right on the square. It appears to be well maintained and the staff tries to please. We were in room number 11 with a spectacular view of the square. However, I have a few concerns. I asked for my receipt several times, finally to be told it would be emailed to me later that day. It was a few days later, but I did get it. This was not a huge problem. We ate dinner in the restaurant and this was very disappointing. The dinner of my two friends was cold. They chose not to send it back. My husband's dinner was unremarkable. My dinner was absolutely awful. I ate what I could, then passed the remainder to my husband and friends. None would eat any of it. What can you possibly do to enchiladas? Well the salsa tasted like there was something sour in it and the chicken was just weird. I was ill during the night. Prices were way too high for the quality of the food and slow service. The setting was wonderful- maybe just an off night? In room number11 the bed vibrates every time a car passes on the street. At night there isn't much traffic, so this didn't disturb us. Actually we thought it was quite funny. There is heat in the room, which isn't turned on until the evening., but the room was very comfortable, including the temperature. The shower was absolutely wonderful.

Perfect hotel in a perfect location

Posted Dec 31, 2013
Great hotel in a great location on the main square; rooms at the front are best, but we'd have been happy anywhere; great choice for breakfast; clean and welcoming; parking provided (though a bit of a stroll away!); everything nearby, or easy to get to; loads to see and do in town; lots of great restaurants all around. Would recommend strongly.

Perfect for Day of the Dead

Posted Nov 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
This beautiful little hotel is directly in front of the large plaza, and a block from the small plaza. Shopping and restaurants all around. Traffic is difficult both in and out of the area. The hotel restaurant is fine, though the meals are twice the price of a good restaurant next door. They serve a little basket of sweet breads with breakfast. We found out that some people chose package A that included free breakfast, while we inadvertently chose package B without breakfast included.A little secret is the hotel has a bar/restaurant with live music in the back. A little secret: you can ask for coffee to be sent up for free at a specific time. The best food ended up coming from the little taco stand in the plaza for 6 pesos each. There is an HSBC bank/ATM down the street. Also, there is a large supermarket less than 2 blocks away.
