Too cold for comfortPosted Feb 14, 2012 on Hotels.com
It was very cold in Patzcuaro and the rooms only had a fireplace for heat. It was suggested that we pay a "tip" for wood and someone to light the fire to which I objected vigorously. They provided the fire but most of the heat went up the chimney and of course it went out while we were asleep. It was so cold the following morning that we couldn't shower. The next day we were moved to another room which wasn't so cold but, at over 7,000 ft. above sea level, some sort of heat should be provided in the rooms. None of the reception staff could speak English and the manager never seemed to be available. Service in the restaurant was very good but, apart from breakfast and excellent coffee, dinner was rather greasy. We reserved for 3 nights and left after 2 because we were so uncomfortable.

Never again!Posted Jul 15, 2010
Don't go by the photos. This property is run down. Our stay included visits by cockroaches and we even found dead mice in the room. No washclothes were provided with the linens. The hotel staff was extremely rude.
