“Great Hotel, Bad Food”

Mediocre food. Tasteless. Expensive. Tricky billing. You sign your restaurant bill in quetzales but you have to pay it in dollars at the hotel exchange rate! Otherwise, lovely secluded beautiful location. Clean, beautiful.

“Good value”

Me and my boyfriend stayed at hte Camino Real Sumiya only for one night. The hotel is a little hard to find and infrastructure is kind of old, but it has beautiful gardens and the property is extremely peaceful. Overall its a good value.

“Excellent hotel but old rooms”

Everything was perfect except the rooms are a bit old and need some updating. The sunday brunch was absolutely delicious!

“Beautiful, romantic, but noisy.”

The hotel grounds are beautiful. It's not located in the best part of Cuernavaca. It's outside of downtown away from the hustle and bustle, almost in a subdivision. Inside the grounds though, great. Nice waterfalls, artificial ponds, trees, lush vegetation, hills. The landscaping is beautiful and the buildings are in an oriental type style. The rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable. Service by the hotel was top notch as well. There were only two negatives during my stay: the food was rather bland and not worth the price and the walls and doors to the room are paper thin, so you can here EVERYTHING going on around you. Sounds almost as if people were inside your room.

Area recommendations

Downtown Cuernavaca is probably the nicest area. A market square is the main attraction it seems. I found Cuernavaca to be a nice experience but not as cool as Guanajato, which as more restaurants, beautiful buildings, clubs, and partying going on. It seemed much more of a tourist destination for foreigners than Cuernavaca.

Place was great. Grounds are beautiful, rooms are nice-sized, clean, and comfortable, staff was very friendly, International Restaurant was excellent - best pollo mole I ever had!
