“It'll do”
The hotel was fine - not spectacular, but met our expectations for a place to hang our hats for the night. We had a king room, which was pretty standard. The bathroom is really small, and it had a regular curtain in the bath, but no liner so had to just put the fabric curtain inside the tub so water didn't go everywhere. Tiny, tiny bathroom. West Virginia does allow smoking in rooms (I'm a smoker, so this was good for me), but if you don't smoke or don't want the smell of smoke, good luck. The sheets were clean, but the bedspread had some stains on it. Again, not a horrible place to stay if you're just looking for somewhere to sleep for the night. Overall, it was clean, and the staff was friendly.
Area recommendations
The area wasn't the prettiest part of town, but no trouble either and didn't have trouble sleeping - but there is a fire station right across the street. I don't know the area well enough to recommend a certain part of town.
