Dental School Banquet

Posted May 21, 2015
Pros: It's a classic.
Location: As a WVU alumnus, I like the Book Exchange.
The hotel is well located in Morgantown, being close to a restaurant that I like and a store that I like. Oh, yes, the banquet was great.

Nice overnight stay while on family trip

Posted May 4, 2015
Pros: The staff was very polite and helpful with whatever we needed.
Location: All kinds of little shops and things for the family within waking distance.
We were just passing through and needed to stay for one night. There was plenty of room for our family and everyone had their own bed! It was also located in walking distance to a lot of cool little shops and things for the kids.

Great Historic Hotel

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Staff friendliness, historic building, location, room comfort
Cons: I can't think of anything...I had no complaints.
Location: Right in the middle of a college downtown - neat restaurants, coffee shops, vintage/thrift stores, close to the campus. In the heart of Morgantown.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this hotel. This place is managed by the Clarion chain but does not have the feel of a chain hotel. The nearly 90 year old structure is beautiful inside. The room was nice - not "historic" but like your basic hotel room - quite clean and very comfortable with refridge/microwave and plenty of space. I had a corner room which had nice windows/natural light. It is right downtown so some traffic noise is there but access to everything in downtown is so convenient. Parking is not directly next to the building but quite close by. Staff (mostly young men, possibly college students) was very friendly and helpful. I didn't eat breakfast but went to look at the offerings which were basically continental breakfast plus several hot items (like breakfast burritos) - lots to choose from. There is an upscale restaurant and a lounge but I didn't have opportunity to go to either. Free coffee in the lobby was nice - I also sat in the beautiful lobby to read and people-watch - and I used the fitness room which had an elliptical and some treadmills and free weights. The only "bad" experience I had was the TV remote kept turning the AC on and off as well in my room...it was weird more than anything. I really liked this place and would certainly stay here again if I am in Morgantown in the future.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. I knew it had great reviews, but it surpassed the reviews that I read! Wonderful staff, huge room, etc.

Elegant old hotel

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Good breakfast with continental and hot offerings.
Cons: Could use some general updating and cosmetic fixes.
Location: Right on High Street (main street of Morgantown) convenient to shopping, churches and near university main campus.
Hotel Morgan is a vintage hotel on main street of Morgantown. It is elegant, but is showing its age and needs some upkeep. One elevator out of service and the other needs cosmetic repairs. Room was spacious and comfortable. All things considered, it was a very enjoyable stay in a very convenient location.

Pros: Great staff, very helpful with accurate information.
Cons: Internet connectivity
Location: Perfect!
Great check in, perfect logistics, front office staff is excellent. Old hotel, great quality workmanship, but with old comes the need for a serious housekeeping update--new carpet, clean windows would help a lot.

Okay in a pinch

Posted Mar 13, 2015
Pros: Location and friendly staff.
Cons: Wifi
Our first time staying at the Clarion Hotel Morgan because the hotel we usually stay in was fully booked. Although it does have the charm of an older hotel... like the classic elegance of beautiful woodwork, it also does not have the comfort and ammenities of a modern, updated hotel. The location is close to WVU and the center of town, which is nice, and the staff was very friendly and attentive, but the rooms felt dated and the wifi was basically unusable. The beds were small (full vs. queen) and at one point there was no hot water... we had to call the front desk who was very responsive and had to reset the water heater. Overall it was just okay.
