Nice hotel if you like driving through the country
Posted Jan 26, 2013
one of the reason i booked the hotel was that it was to be 21 miles from the job site i am working. however it is more like 36 miles and it is not 27 minutes away it is more like 45 minutes away. when the next time i book with expedia or any other online company i will confirm the milage before booking. the hotel is nice enough but needs upgrading, bath, beds, chairs, and table the one i am using now has a 30 degree till, which will typing i hold it down with my elbows to keep it level. i booked the room with the expected stay of 7 nights, however do to things not under my control i am having to stay more nights to complete the job. adding another 4 nights. giving the drive back and forth to the job it is more than likely the job will not be able to cover the gas uasge from hotel to site. i dont want this to be a negative review. the drive is nice enough that is relaxes you on the way back to the hotel, and long enough that you can finish your coffee and biscutt before getting to the job site. the hotel is quite enough that i sleep well, or it could be the 12 hour days. in all i will tell other friends, co-workers about the hotel, pricing is great for what you get. this was the first time i use a online compan to find and book a hotel stay. would i use again, yes the rates you cant beat. i call around myself to book another worker closer to the job and out of 4 hotels the Heldreth Motel located on Route 26 South in Kingwood, WV with HBO, ESPN, CNN and local tv was the best.

Fall Foliage outside Morgantown

Nice inexpensive hotel. Further from Morgantown than expected but it was a nice drive during the fall foliage. Clean room. Very accomodating. Only rooms available on a football weekend. Will stay again.

It was OK for the purpose.

I saved about 1/2 what I would have paid staying in Morgantown for the weekend. It's an old motel so I didn't expect too much. The road leading from the highway to the town have more turns, bumps and hills than any rollercoaster I have ever ridden. It might have been 15 miles "as the crow flies" but I think the actual distance was further. When I made my reservation I requested a non-smoking room. That was not available when I arrived. Everything had that old smoker smell. The food at the cafe was very good. The people were nice. As I said, it met my needs for the weekend but I don't think I will stay there the next time I'm in that area.
