“Nice hotel in a fantastic village.”

Nice hotel in a fantastic village. The hotel is still being renovated: I find they are doing a nice job in preserving the old building

“Quiet Clean and Charming”

We had ocassion to need a hotel for 11 people that was South of Milan. After reading the discription of Il Chiostro we decided to give it a try. Were we lucky. The Hotel is part of an exisiting Church. The rooms are spotless and the A/C wonderful. There are even frescoes on some of the walls of the rooms. The breakfast was excellent. This is a good choice for a quiet peacefull hotel south of Milan

“Quiet and Remote”

The Quad room that we reserved was huge w/ 2 bathrooms. One section had 2 twin beds and another with one kingsize beds (separated by a half wall). There were lots of extra pillows and blankets in the closet. Our room had a window overlooking the church and the church bells that rang every hour was very soothing and relaxing. The hotel has no sign and we had some difficulty finding it but was worth the time looking for it. Breakfast was included and we had the best cappucino ever!

“Basic accomodation in unique setting”

Our family of 4 stayed two nights in a family room. Basic accomodation in a rural setting but despite low season (February), several options open for meals in Morimondo. Family room is large, high ceilings with wooden beams and beds separated by a low wall. Small TV, two writing desks and several closets. Good breakfast with bread, croissants, cookies and cake, yoghurt, fruit, cereals, ham, cheese and juices.

“Good choice”

We found this hotel a very nice place for our stay in Lombardy. Although there is a bus connection to Milan, I'd rather recommend to go by car there. Located in small village Morimondo offers fair conditions for price. There is no problem with dining in Morimondo as this place is known to restaurants (there are 4 or 5 there).

“Converted monastery, basic but very charming. Off the beaten track.”

Since this is a remodeled monastery, it is not a luxury hotel, and we knew that up front. The accommodations are basic but comfortable, and we loved its charm and the neighborhood setting that it was in. The family that runs it lives right there, and they were very friendly and helpful, although with limited English. We felt like we were in the middle of an authentic local Italian neighborhood, not some touristy contrived setting. Walking the grounds and local area were very pleasant. There is a gelato/coffee shop next door and a few restaurants within a block or two. It is adjacent to the church grounds and farm land, so it is a very peaceful and scenic setting. We were just looking for a cheap place to crash on our way to Cinque Terra, but we felt like we had found a worthy destination on its own merits.

“Clean, simple and quiet”

If you're looking for a simple and inexpensive option close to Milan and Pavia, this will work for you. Nothing extra, but a clean room with a very pleasant staff in a small, out of the way village. Small bar and breakfast offering worked for us as we spent very little time in the room. Won't impress anyone in terms of grandeuer, but simply functional describes it best. I'd go back for sure - can't beat the price

“Quiet and very clean.”

The hotel is part of the local church, the room was clean and the little village of Morimondo, located just outside of Milan was very friendly and quiet. The hotel receptionist was a very pleasent young woman who waited up late for our arrivial. Be carefu when you try to find this hotel as it is in the very corner of Moridmoo and somewhat hard too find.
