Perfect location for visiting AlnwickPosted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: The position was very convenient for visiting Alnwick
Cons: The interior decoration
Location: Good. Near castles, National Trust properties and the coast.
The original pub was very nice but the entrance from the car park was terrible, badly decorated and creating a bad first impression. We found the dining room dismal and somber, full of clutter and generally a uninspiring atmosphere.

Good for touring the locality.Posted Aug 8, 2014
Pros: Secure car park and good location for touring.
The bedroom accommodation is in a modern block behind the old pub style frontage and overlooks a substantial rear car park ... the car is therefore secure. The accommodation is good as is the breakfast. A very rural location close to the A1 and well situated for touring this beautiful area.

Good food and lovely people.Posted Jun 27, 2014
Pros: The friendly, caring and efficient staff and the excellent food.
Cons: The purchase of some good quality dusters!
Location: Northumberland is just wonderful. If you can find nothing to do in Northumberland, you are probably dead!
We spent three nights at The Cook and Barker on a sudden whim. We had a lovely time despite slight reservations about the dusting! Room was perfectly good, the members of staff were all really friendly and helpful. My wife has quite serious dementia but the members of staff coped wonderfully even when she ended up behind the bar! The food was very good and I had the best scrambled egg ever! A real test!

Lovely country pub!Posted May 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
A great tucked away gem in the countryside in Northumberland. We used it as a base for Alnwick & the coastal route, which was perfect. We arrived in the pouring rain to a roaring fire which was most welcome. Checked us straight in, then we retired to the bar for drinks and a meal (both of which were various & delicious) Lovely breakfast in the morning to see us off onto our onward travels. Well recommended!

Little gemPosted May 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
Welcome was friendly, food was great, room was nice and shower was the best I have had in any hotel (even if it was a little low in height). Quiet location but 2 mins away from A1. Enjoyed the stay.
