Awesome locationPosted Jul 11, 2015
Generally very nice hotel and well priced for location. Only negatives are that the hotel is slightly tired, security personnel think they work for the KGB and air conditioning did not work well (although hotel did fix it).

Fantastic Location Old Fashion HotelPosted Jul 6, 2015
This is a jewel in the middle of Moscow. Beautiful old hotel with a magnificent location. Walking distance to the Bolshoi Theater and to the Red Square and the Kremlin. Three large shopping malls at walking distance and plenty of small cafes to enjoy en afternoon with wine and cheese.

Great hotel close to KremlinPosted May 27, 2015
Pros: The staff was outstanding, especially the concierge desk.
Cons: It was difficult to exchange money. The bank (around the corner), refused to take our dollars.
Location: This hotel is almost on top of the Kremlin with St. Basils, the "GUM" department store, and Red square.
The Metropol is a centrally located hotel, roughly 2 blocks away from the Kremlin and Red Square. It is an older hotel -- with somewhat of a grand feeling to it. The huge strength of this hotel is its concierge staff. Americans in Moscow can have huge problems with the language, transportation, knowing where to go. This hotel's concierge staff were endlessly patient and helpful to myself and my wife. The room was large, clean, and quite reasonable. With larger fluffier towels, would be up there with the 4 star operations. It was a little cold, which we were told was the fault of the government. I would have preferred a coffee pot in the room, rather than being forced to forage for coffee in the morning. Still, even considering these small negatives, we would certainly return to this hotel were we in Moscow again.

Nice HotelPosted May 17, 2015
Nice hotel, clean, but front staff could be more friendly and more helpful. Otherwise good hotel and close to main turist attractions.
