A fabulous hotel for your stay in Moscow

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: Friendly relaxed atmosphere Pleasant helpful staff Great location Breakfast
Cons: A little too hot in bedroom
Location: Excellent location near Red Square and Kremlin. Metro station minutes away. Shops and restaurants nearby.
We were greeted warmly by the reception staff who booked us in without delay. They were friendly and courteous and spoke excellent English. Our room was perfect, clean and well equiped. The ambience is one of classic understated luxury and the place is well maintained. Breakfast in the magnificent restaurant is excellent. The staff are attentive but inobtrusive and deserve special thanks. We made use of the fitness centre which includes a 20m indoor pool which is an exceptional facitity for a city centre hotel. The hotel is very well located and is within easy walking distance of The Kremlin and Red Square. It is situated very close to a range of shops and the Metro. This hotel is highly recommended and we would love to return.

Great location

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: Reception staff. Room. WiFi was v fast!
Cons: Buiding work around it made the place like a war zone.
Location: Near everything!
A block between the Bolshoi Theatre and the old KGB building, and 10 minutes walk from the Kremlin. Pretty good position! There's a Metro station about 5 minutes walk away too - so for getting around Moscow you would find it difficult to be in a better place. The Hotel is old fashioned but with good amenities - small gym and a big pool. Restaurant for breakfast was the only time we were in it but pretty good buffet. The bar seemed to have been plucked out of another time dimension but was perfectly okay - just okay. Staff were as friendly as Muscovites get - not very.... We got a deal (a very good deal) and when we arrived we realised why. A hotel being built across the road - the building work is 24hr - so you either deal with the overheated hotel (Russians like to stay warm!) or open the window and listen to the tipper trucks all night. We did a bit of both. I presume it will be finished ina couple of months so should be fine after that..

Great value for 5 star hotel

Posted Feb 19, 2015
Great location and although expensive, nevertheless great value for 5 star hotel in Moscow (resulting from very favorable $ to Ruble exchange rate). Staff somewhat formal but friendly, and overall service was very good. Breakfast included in tariff was also excellent for quality and variety of items.

Moscow weekend

Posted Feb 10, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Put a sofa in rooms with a suite
Location: Red square and plenty of bars
room was great except two things no sofa to sit on in a room that had living room with a TV but no sofa, only chairs. Mattress on the Bed was uncomfortable a pillow top mattress would be nice

It's the Savoy...

Location: Close to everything
What can I say, this is the place to stay when in Moscow. And with today's currency exchange rate, it's a steal. Nicely maintained with well trained staff, you'll enjoy it

Lovely Hotel in a great location

Posted Jan 28, 2015
Pros: Its location, the peaceful atmosphere (no children!!!!)
Cons: THE RESTAURANT!!! beautiful decor, but the food as ATROCIOUS and OVERPRICED.. the wine too!
Location: Within minutes of the Red Square and the Bolshoi. Easy access to the metro too... and the former headquarters of the KGB if you are that way inclined
Step inside and you are back in time, with a few funky pieces of furniture (leopard chair). Staff is kind and helpful, the rooms as quiet and spacious. The only issue for me was that it was far too warm. 30°C in the lobby and the rooms

très bel hôtel

Posted Jan 27, 2015
