“Wonderful experience in Moscow”

This hotel is situated in the best location of town which is near metro and surrounded by many restaurant. It is about 15 minutes walk to Kremlin and Red Square. The conceige team are very nice and helpful. We have wonderful experience staying there and will surely go back if we ever go back to Russia again.

“Good location but don't expect 5-star level.”

Basic services you would expect from a good hotel were there: reception, check-in and check-out were efficient. The reception desk advised us to have breakfast at the nearby cafe (breakfast is really pricy at the hotel). It was a good advice: we paid half of what we would have paid at the hotel, and they had an excellent coffee. However, I was disappointed at the level of rooms and amenities for a 5-star hotel, especially knowing it is a fairly newly built hotel. I think the lobby is rather small and not very inviting. Our room was ok but the bathroom is small and has a weird set-up. I suppose it is meant to optimize space and look modern but it is not comfortable in the end. Moreover, the main piece of furniture which houses the minibar was damaged (one door hinge was broken, hence the door was getting detached and almost falling). The bathroom's TV/radio volume switch was broken and there were no individual switches for each lamp, only one master switch! It's either all switched on, or not. The concierge advised us some standard restaurants, whereas I had the feeling the dining scene was booming in Moscow and there may be much more interesting restaurants than only Cafe Pushkin and Pavilion (they really push for Pavilion, I am not sure why...). In brief, our stay was good but I think the level is not up to the price and expectations for a 5-star.
