“Little Gem in a Quiet Neighborhood”

This is a great little hotel in a quieter neighborhood still within easy walking distance of the metro. The lobby and main restaurant walls and ceilings are painted with folk designs and there is an odd little "rain forest" bar complete with faux trees climbing the walls, a waterfall and a meandering stream inhabited by real turtles and fish. We found it slightly comical and relaxing to sit here after a harried day of sight-seeing. We ate bistro type foods -- salads and sandwiches -- which were fine. The room was simple but clean. Shower was a smallish stall but, again, clean. Ample towels and robes were supplied. Breakfast (included in our rate) was a generous buffet with lots of hot and cold choices. Staff was friendly and helpful. For airport transportation, have them line up a taxi to one of the railway stations where you can catch an express train to your airport. Or get to the railway station by metro if you don't have much luggage. Moscow traffic is horrendous and it's best to avoid a long taxi to the airport.

“Great Hotel in a very busy city!”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. They were quick to help us to our room, brought hot water when we needed it for our newly adopted kiddos, and they offered to help us any way they could. Excellent customer service and very nice room!

“comfortable, clean hotel with restaurant in good central location”

satisfying stay, hotel appeared to be totally together, well organized, fine breakfast and other meals available (breakfast ample and tasty), nicely but simply decorated, comfortable and reasonably large bedroom, very modern bathroom, everything spanking clean, quiet, walking distance of red square and rr station to st. petersburg, good service (carrying, storing bags, apart from that asked nothing of staff), easy to use wifi, no problems re payment or anything else, not a lot of glitz but no glitz was expected or required.

“Very nice”

I was in Moscow for one day after a trip to Siberia. The accommodations were nice, there's a somewhat kitschy but fun wintergarden bar area, the breakfast restaurant was nice, the food good. The only complaint I can think of is that the breakfast service wasn't first-rate, but not terrible either. I'd definitely stay there again if I go back to Moscow.

“pleasant hotel and well located”

Very well located (15 min walk from Red Square and 1st metro station at 5 min) and quiet hotel. Friendly staff and speaking English. Bathroom did not have a bathtub only a shower so not really useful with children below 4 years old. No lift but only 2 floors. Globally it is a good hotel for a pleasant experience in Moscow

“A good value for the money”

Russian 4 stars are more what many people would consider 3 stars. Many of these hotels are older, which is charming, but they are not fancy in ways we might expect. That said, this hotel is well-situated and reasonable. The staff was personable and helpful-- and if you want to have a better experience, I would recommend forking over more than double a night so that you can stay at the Metropole. This is charming and adequate. The breakfast was great. Moscow is quite pricey-- this wasn't cheap, but it was of good value for the money.
