A Step Back in Time - In a Good WayPosted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Atmosphere, location, ease of parking.
Cons: Rooms anywhere near the kitchen are noisy.
Location: Trier is a lovely, accessible city that can be walked easily and is full of interesting restaurants and shops. Parking was not a problem.
This hotel has plenty of character, a beautiful few and wooded surroundings. It made us feel as if we were stepping back in time, which we loved. There is no elevator, so be prepared to shlep your bags - or pack a smaller overnight bag. Our room must have been over the kitchen as we kept hearing a repeating banging, as if furniture was being slammed against a wall. Ended when kitchen closed at night, but started again when kitchen staff arrived the following morning. No sleeping in if your room is over the kitchen.

a bit out of the way for those like us without carPosted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: Good breakfast and helpful staff
Cons: the beds need new mattresses and the annex room we were in was only fit for single use
Location: nothing to do nearby, the town is 40 minute walk away and the infrequent bus was 1Km away
The room felt like a broom cupboard with only space for one person at a time to move around. The hotel did not have a lounge either so lacked comfort.the only English TV is CNN News which is depressing and repetitive. We enjoyed Trier but would have liked to have been near the centre

Good option close to TrierPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: This is a great location when visiting Trier. The food is very good at the restaurant. Outstanding view of the city.
Cons: The bathroom shower did not function properly and hot water was intermittent. At dinner, the waiter did not return to our table after order was placed
Location: Location is great. Only a few minutes from the city of Trier.
Nice facility with an outstanding view of the city. Location is perfect for visiting Trier. Food was outstanding though service (waiter) was lacking at times.

Staff helped us take bags to rooms as there was no elevator. Rooms really nicely furnished, beds comfortable. Dinner excellent. Breakfast was really nice with fine china, homemade breads, excellent assortment of hot and cold foods.

Great view of Trier. Quiet. Excellent breakfast.Posted May 22, 2014
Pros: The view of Trier is beautiful. The hotel is nicely old & on a nearby hill - quiet & peaceful. The buffet breakfast was excellent & a great value.
Cons: The room and bathroom we had was very small. There was no fridge for drinks or snacks. The staff was efficient, but not very friendly.
Location: The hotel is located on a nearby hill so you will need a car to get there, but it is quiet and has a great view of Trier. You must see the church.
The hotel is located on a hill above Trier so you need a car to get there. The parking was free. The hotel is a nicely kept large, old house; very quiet & peaceful. Our room and bathroom was small, but bright, clean, adequate & comfortable. There was no fridge for drinks or snacks. The staff were efficient, but not very friendly. Dinner was O.K. and a little pricey. The buffet breakfast was excellent and a great value.
