“Co-owner/Manager not overly helpful”
The hotel was alright, pretty clean, breakfast was good. There was also a restaurant just a short walk across the parking lot, but not much else around. The room was clean as were the hallways. The hotel could use some updates but it wasn't bad for the price. The heated pool was cold, and unfortunately having a heated pool was the main reason we chose this hotel.
There was a mistake made during billing and my card was charged again for a room I had prepaid weeks before (when I went to pay for the pet deposit, my card information was accidentally put in place of billing Expedia for the pre-paid room). The staff was friendly and tried to help. One person was able to explain exactly what had happened and assured me it was a mistake that they would fix right away. When I spoke with the manager/co-owner the next day after it had not been corrected, he tried to cover up the mistake and said it was only a "hold" (my bill at checkout said my card had been charged... it was not a "hold"). He was not polite, not apologetic, lied directly to me, and said the holds take 24 hours to clear. The system took the money from my account on Saturday, I did not have it returned to my account until Thursday. I was thankful that their mistake did not mess up my account and cause overdraft fees (for which he said he would NOT be responsible for if they occurred).
It would have been an "okay" stay otherwise. But because the manager lied and was rude, I won't stay again or recommend.
