There was a security door that was broken so it didn't close. Defeats the purpose of needing keycard to get in building.

Close to NSC

Posted Jul 24, 2015
Pros: Close to NSC. Had a breakfast. Quiet.
Cons: Cleanliness
Location: Running path almost right off the property
Bathroom wasn't clean. Mold in toilet, tub not scrubbed. They didn't take used towels with them when they cleaned--it was shoved under the bed instead.

Was given a smoking room, and I don't believe I was advised of this.

You get what you pay for!

Posted Jun 15, 2015
My husband and I needed a hotel to stay for the weekend- we paid $80 a night and we got what we paid for. It was cheap and that's what we wanted. Breakfast was good too.

Some maintenance issues

Posted May 21, 2015
Door lock and cold water tap both required immediate attention. Lock worked, but took some fiddling. Maintenance fixed it on Monday, but was apparently not available over the weekend. Hotel is a little difficult to spot. Some GPS might take you around the block before reaching it. Watch for the sign behind the BP gas station. Breakfast never included any meat or hot eggs. There is a McDonald's across the parking lot if you want these items. Hotel is in an industrial area. Little within walking distance. Plan on driving or asking for delivery if the nearby restaurants aren't to your liking. I would probably stay there again if I make another trip to the area, but I am not committed to it and would definitely look around. For what I paid I am content.

Days Inn Mounds View o.k. for the price

Posted May 1, 2015 on Hotels
They have begun installing new carpet (which is very welcome). The maids, however, seemingly aren't very attentive in their duties (particularly in the areas that may not be directly in line with the door, etc.). My desk chair was about to fall apart, which considering I use the desk a lot is a downside. They have begun raising their prices, presumably for the summer, and it's hard to say that the value matches the price.

Good enough for a couple of nights.

Posted Apr 24, 2015
When making our reservation we had requested a 2 queen bed, smoking room with a microwave (microwaves available upon request). Upon check-in I asked if the microwave was available and was told it had been missed so we were given the option to upgrade to a 1 king bed room which has a microwave (and also a couch), which we took. The room was somewhat dirty- the furniture is worn and stained and behind the bed hadn't been vacuumed in forever, and the carpet was also very sticky in places but they are in the process of replacing the carpeting (the lobby was full of large rolls of it.) Also, after feeling some lumps in the bed, we pulled off the mattress pad to find 2 pieces of popped corn and a penny (although the mattress itself seemed clean). The bathroom was clean but the bathroom light would spontaneously either be normal brightness or very dim and where the bath fan had been was just some wiring sticking out. The TV is a modern flat screen which worked well, the wireless was fine and the windows opened (although they were so dirty you couldn't see out with the morning sun shining on them). The housekeeping and front desk staff were friendly and the hotel was quiet (Wed & Thurs stay). The continental breakfast included standard hotel fare as well as make-you-own waffles (not the frozen pop-up kind). We opted to walk across the street to R.J. Riches where we got a huge breakfast for cheap (we'll share a breakfast next time). Overall we would stay here again.

Posted Mar 11, 2015 on Hotels
First of all i had to put a $50 deposit down because we book it thru hotels.com and were told that we'll be getting our money credit back to our account. So far nothing yet and we called but all they say is that its been credit back already. We check our bank account but nothing yet. I'll be calling until i get my deposit back!!!! It's been 3 days already. It shouldn't take that long!!! Won't return anymore!!!
