good value for money

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: friendly staff
Cons: mainly the beds
Location: inconvenient too far from Mt cook.
cheaper than Mt cook accomodation but you pay for what you get, the beds are rubber mattresses which are too soft and uncomfortable. Also no meals available after 5pm in the winter months so unless you bring some food or fancy a 20km drive you go hungry.

Great location and service

We got the cabin right next to Lake Pukaki. The unit was clean and comfortable. The price was a little high, but the comfort level made up for it. The very beautiful night sky is also very good, and that's thanks to the location. I do recommend this place.

Cafe not open

Posted Feb 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
Everything was excellent. Location, room etc but the cafe was not open despite being specified on the website. The nearest alternative was 32km away!!! The French receptionist felt she had covered this with a typical French "so what?" shrug of the shoulders. The rest of the staff were very good

Excellent value and beautiful view

Posted Jan 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were very impressed with our stay at Glentanner. Having just booked it on the Hotels.com website, I really didn't know how it was going to turn out. It is located in a beautiful area and we were really lucky to have beautiful clear day - the views of the Mount Cook valley are stunning. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice - a little cramped but we had a kitchen area and comfortable beds.

Blissfully quiet

Posted Dec 16, 2011 on Hotels.com
Blissfully quiet location, but a bit expensive. No shampoo, hairdryer or free wireless internet - all of these would have been nice. Cafe closes a bit early. The nearest town is 50km or so away. I got the best night's sleep here in ages, bed was comfortable, room was large, overall great.
