We didn’t get the email with access details as we should have, so we couldn’t get in the building for a while. We tried the phone numbers posted on the door but no one answered initially. We left messages but no one called back. Eventually, someone answered one of the numbers and came to let us inside. Once we did get in, we couldn’t find the key to the room. Candace was very helpful and helped us get in, but she didn’t seem to know about our reservation.
The breakfast on the first morning was lacking. There were bagels but no spreads/cream cheese/butter. There was juice and water but no glasses. There was coffee but no options for tea. Other than the bagels, there was yoghurt, muffins and fruit.
Breakfast on the second day was non-existent. We were told breakfast was between 8am and 9am. We went down within that time but there was no food out and no one around to ask. Not what you expect from a bed and breakfast.
There was no cleaning service, so our trash was not collected and beds were not made on any of the 3 days we stayed there.
The Lily Inn is a gorgeous building; we stayed here earlier in the year and had a much better experience, which included a welcome to the inn and a hot breakfast, so we didn’t hesitate to stay here again but this time we had a very different, and disappointing experience.
