Good location at the edge of town.

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: Good location.
Cons: Hot water in shower not readily available--needed to crank the handle to full to get any. In-room coffee would be a welcome plus.
Location: Deadwood was impressive and interesting.
Motel was very easy to locate. Outdoor metal grate stairway to second floor not welcoming, especially difficult in the dark. Not enough outdoor chairs for relaxing outside. Needed to go down out-of-door stairs and across parking area to get coffee in the morning.

This hotel is a dump and the room smelled of mildew. Furnishings are old, cracks in the ceiling and water stains around the door. The door and windows don't lock securely and the air conditioner didn't work. At least it was somewhat clean.

Motel

This is definitely a motel. It is a bit runned down. There are plenty of other hotels to stay in the area. I wouldn't recommend this one. I think it was way over priced and you're better off spending an extra $10-20 for a nicer hotel.

Nice hotel close to Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: The location, the room was clean and the staff was friendly
Cons: The d├ęcor could stand an update. ;)
Location: Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse and Custer Park, are all close by. Great location.
The staff was outstanding. They were very helpful. Our room was very clean and had a decent view. The pool was perfect for the kids and they had a great time swimming. Breakfast was served and looked delicious but we didn't have time to stay and eat. We were trying to get on the rode and get home. :) We would stay again, if we were in the area.

Not one of the better hotels in the area

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Cons: A little TLC. Only ever saw male staff - not that women can't do poorly too, but guys (I am one) generally less particular about their surroundings.
Location: Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse
For the price, very disappointing (over $100, and quality commensurate with perhaps $50). Selected this hotel because it appeared not too many hotels existed nearby (not true at all). The town of Custer is quite a little metropolis of hotels and various lodging options. I must have done something wrong in searching. The rooms were unimpressive and the breakfast was ok but limited (no fruit for example). The eggs were real though.

Good location to see the Black Hills attractions

Posted Jul 26, 2014
Nothing fancy but very accomodating, clean and located within easy driving of all the attractions we wanted to see in the Black Hills. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were large and clean. Would go stay here again when we come back to the Black Hills.

Best place to stay!

This hotel was small but located perfectly in the middle of the South Dakota Black Hills... very close to Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monuments, as well as so many over natural National treasures!

Not what I expected

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: the breakfast was not bad with biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and waffles. No cereal, fruit or muffins/rolls for people who likes those.
Cons: Plumbing, upgraded towels and a little TLC would be nice.
Location: Custer is very near many Black Hills attractions like Mount Rushmore, Wind Cave, several lakes and a great deal of scenic attractions which was why we
The room was very small - barely room to walk around the beds. The bathroom door was narrow and stuck. Neither sink drained very well. Room was advertised with microwave and refrigerator and we had to ask for the microwave. The towels were very worn, rough and small. The swimming pool was very small for the amount of rooms in the motel.. There were 2 chairs at the table and they were both very wobbly. My husband was afraid to sit on them.
