“Nice family hotel”
A nice hotel in a great location. Continental breakfast was a plus
“great experience”
The hotel is great! Family owned, the stuff goes out of their way to give you anything you need. The room are VERY spacious, clean, the breakfast is simple but good. Literally 5 minutes from Mount Rushmore National Monument and 15 from Crazy Horse. Do it. Much better that any chain like super 8.
“Great all around”
Great location...close to Mt Rushmore, everything in Keystone, Custer State Park, Crazy Horse. Great price. Super clean. Unbelievable amenities for the price...flat screen tv, dvd player, fridge, shared micro in hall, game room with pool table, foosball, big screen TV, pizza restaurant downstairs, all for a great price. Consider me super impressed. Thank you!
“Close to all the sites in Keystone.”
I was hesitant about staying here after the reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Our bed was comfortable. We had a whirlpool tub and refrigerator. Best part was we were less than 2 miles from Mount Rushmore and close to all other attraction in the area. Be aware that the pool, hot tub in the hotel and many of the local stores and side attractions close after Labor day. Resturants in Keystone after that time close early. The exception is The Powder House which is open until 9:00. and is less than a mile from the end of the town of Keystone of route 16. Their buffalo stew was awesome. Their is a pizza resturant in the hotel. The breakfast buffet is simple with hard boiled eggs, toast and cereal. We knew this before we went based on the review so we had food items with us. Rapid City and the I 90 corridor are just 33 miles away and offers additional resturants and shopping.
“Great location”
Stayed here for one night while visiting Black Hills Area. Location was great!! Older hotel, not big on luxury, but more than acceptable. Nice balcony which faced Mt. Rushmore, though only a GLIMPSE of it. Staff was great and the adjoining pizza place; Big Time Pizza, was pretty good. I would certainly recommend this hotel. Easy walk to shopping.
“Clean & Tidy”
This hotel is older, but very clean and well maintained. Great location, close to Mt. Rushmore.
“Enjoyed our stay”
Good value. Room was clean and everything we expected for the price. Would have appreciated some lotion or a plastic laundry bag in our goodie bag, but other than that, it was comparable to other hotels we've stayed in. Didn't check out the pool or hot tub. Free breakfast was adequate. Waffles were good. We'd go back again.
“Good for price and location”
visited during the off season. Friendly staff and room was cleaned daily. Amenities were ok. I didn't use the pool so I cannot comment. Provided soap was small and the towels are thin. Heat worked well, I did not use the air conditioning. Continental breakfast was small. Pizzeria attached was very good.
“Location matters”
The hotel is nicely located for people visiting Mount Rushmore. The view from my balcony was pleasing. The view from rooms facing the parking might not be as pleasing. Hotel is little distant from commercial area.
“Decent place to stay, no problems.”
Hotel is very close to Mt. Rushmore, Black Hills Forrest and Custer State Park. It is walking distance (across the street) from the alpine slides and Presidential Wax museum- however both were closed "for the season." Decent hotel and met our needs for a clean, convenient place to stay. Pool was also closed for the season (it was mid-March) Restaurant downstairs, while not owned by the hotel, is great. Very good pizza and good service.
