Great Pompeii HotelPosted Oct 22, 2013
This is a very pleasant hotel in a very good location run by extremely courteous and helpful staff. Our room was clean and well appointed with good access to the rooftop terrace and views over the town. The continental breakfast was a little simple but perfectly satisfactory. Hotel Palma is close to the main town square (with a choice of good restaurants and bars) and one of Pompeii's main railway stations giving access to Naples and Herculaneum. A further station for points south (Sorrento, Salerno and Paestum) as well as Naples is about 10 minutes walk away. Entrance to the Pompeii ruins and the bus stop for a trip to the summit of Vesuvius are also about 10 minutes away on foot. All in all, this is a very good hotel as a base for making day visits to the area's attractions.

Perfect location.Posted Sep 11, 2013
I stayed at the Palma for 3 nights and I loved it. The staff were friendly and would do anything for guests, i had a problem with the blind in my room on the first night and the staff were really accommodating in terms of at first offering me a different room and when i declined getting the blind fixed first thing the following day. The breakfast buffet was also lovely and i thought a good selection of food (although no hot offerings), it offered enough choice to set me up for the day! The location is perfect literally across the street from the Circumvesuviana, ideal for getting to Herculaneum and other places such as Sorrento and Oplonto. There is also a good supermarket around the corner, perfect for stocking up on ice cold Peronis to enjoy on the balcony! The Piazza Anfiteatro entrance to the ruins is a nice short walk away also, although note you must get an audio guide from one of the stalls outside the ruins, you can only get audio guides inside the ruins at the main entrance. The hotel also offers an airport transfer which is well worth it. I have nothing but good things to say about the Palma and if I am ever lucky enough to return to Pompei, I will use the Palma again.

Amazing hotel about a 10 min walk from the ruinsPosted Sep 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
I was a little suspect as I was driving towards this place because of the neighborhood, but as I pulled up I was quickly relieved. This is literally the only place I would stay in Pompeii. We got a fantastic room with a wrap around balcony (2 entrances) that overlooked the train station, right next to the ruins. I love this place and if I ever find myself going back to Pompeii, this is where I will go!

Hotel in PompeiPosted Aug 11, 2013
Reception staff were excellent. Very helpful. Food appalling - breakfast was dried cakes, plain yogurt ,concentrate orange squash, a few slices of parma ham and packet slices of cheese which had been left exposed to flies. We tried the restaurant once and paid 82 euros for 3 people to have a slice of tough beef which was called steak, salad which was a lettuce leaf covered in salt, chips were ok.- felt ripped off! beds clean but hard and conditioning unit leaked water on my daughters bed at night so wet bedding. Ripped off by hotel taxi driver 120 euros from Pompeii to Sorrento and back. use of jacuzzi on roof good, shower in room good. Room service offered but when attempted to use told they were closed. Not a 4 star Hotel by any means. However, it could be.

Very nice hotel - excellent locationPosted Jul 21, 2013
Pros: Everything; the staff. the room, and the location.
Cons: Coffee makers in the rooms
Location: Hotel Palma is within easy walking distance of the ruins of Pompeii, and convenient to many restaurants, shops and banks in the City of Pompeii.
We had a very good experience at Hotel Palma. The hotel is right across the street from the Circumvesuviana train station, which was very convenient for us, but you would never know it as we never heard a train. The hotel is also conveniently located close to the ruins of Pompeii and for tours to nearby attractions, such as Herculaneum, Mt Vesuvius, the Isle of Capri and many others. We reserved a room with twin beds, which we got, but as that room did not have a balcony we asked to be moved to another room with two beds, which they did immediately. The room, which contained a queen bed and a twin bed, and the bathroom were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The room had air conditioning, which was very welcomed as the weather was very hot, and contained a small refrigerator, which was very nice to have. It was nice to be able to sit on the balcony in the evening and relax. Breakfast was included in our stay, and we found the breakfast to be plentiful and good, and they served American coffee, which was also very good. We found the staff to be very pleasant and extremely helpful; they will go out of their way to assist you with any questions or problems with ant issues you might have even if not related to the hotel. I would highly recommend the Hotel Palma for a pleasant stay in Pompeii.

Great for sight seeing in PompeiPosted Jul 14, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness, jacuzzi on roof, view from the room with 2 balconies
Cons: Breakfast was served until 10.30 and one morning we came down just before 10 and it had all been cleared away
Location: Ideal for sightseeing - couldn't be better placed.
Quirky but incredibly well placed for sight seeing - we were 10 minutes away walking from Pompei and directly opposite the station that we used to get to Herculaneum. There are some nice restaurants - although the choice is quite limited. The square which is round the corner from the hotel is very pretty and has lots of ice cream parlours.

Convenient location but noisy on the streetPosted May 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
Clean and comfortable.Perfect for proximity to the station and only one km from the side entrance to Pompeii near the amphitheatre. From there its another km to the most popular parts of the complex. Friendly staff who delivered a shoulder bag to us at the train station which we had left behind.50 minutes by local train to Naples Garibaldi station which connects by a walkway to Napoli Centrale for trains to major cities and towns. Make sure you get off at Garibaldi and don't take the local train to the last stop.
