Ozark Folk Center weekendPosted Jun 10, 2014
Pros: Location, room size, bed quality, wifi, breakfast, and the STAFF!
Cons: The shower water pressure.
I had the opportunity to attend a workshop at the Ozark Folk Center the first weekend of June. We reserved a king room at the Fiddlers' Inn, and it was a great experience. My partner was planning on doing a lot of mountain biking at Syllamo while I was at the Folk Center, but June rains pretty much washed that out. The staff was extremely helpful as he needed to find things in town to do besides mountain-bike. The rooms were good sized, the bed was good, the a/c worked well (helpful when the humidity was above 90% each day!). The shower water pressure was low, but the showers were still acceptable. Housekeeping was excellent, and the breakfast was enjoyable (Chris loved the waffles!). We would definitely come back to this Best Western property.

Sleep difficultPosted Mar 13, 2014
Pros: Good location. Clean room. Friendly staff.
Cons: new mattresses, sound insulation.
We stayed for two nights. We were in town after a folk festival ended, so the crowds have left. The hotel was mostly empty. Only one or two cars in the parking lot at 10 pm. The room was clean and neat. Nothing fancy. Basic motel room. We had driven a long way so we were looking forward to a good night's sleep. We were winding down when we heard loud talking in what seemed to be from the room next door. I stepped out of the room look into the room next door and it was empty. The sound was coming from the room under us. We were surprised that first, it was so loud, and second, while the whole hotel was nearly empty and the front desk choose to put another guest directly under us knowing how poorly sound insulated the rooms were. The talking and annoying coughing continued from the room below us late into the night. Sleep was also difficult because the beds seemed more like hammocks. No support and you constantly had the feeling you were being pulled to the center of the bed.

Ok hotel.....Posted Mar 2, 2014
Two problems I had w/ the room......1. Was that it smelled like cigarette smoke & for someone who can't stand smoking, this made the room very uncomfortable. Couldn't change bc all rooms were booked. 2. The towels may have been clean, but there were some "OFF WHITE", kinda so dirty that you can wash them & know they're clean but the discoloration of them had me uneasy.

Nice hotel close to mountainPosted Dec 29, 2013
Location: We went to the Blanchard Springs Caverns
Nice hotel and great staff service. We arrived late at 11pm after going through all the mountain roads and the staff was waiting for us with our room cards ready. I messed up the waffle maker and the staff helped to clean it up and made one for me.

Stay was ok. But could hear the people in room above us walking around. Creaking floor sounds above us.
