“Hidden treasure in Murren”

Murren is cute but tends to be a bit touristy, with hotels trying a bit too hard and owned by people who live far away. Hotel Edelweiss, while nothing terribly fancy to look at from the outside, is a real gem. It's operated by the hardworking owners and blessed with a view unmatched by most others in Murren. Perched right on the edge of the cliff, I had an unbroken view from the peaks of the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau all the way to the valley floor. Clean, quiet, and comparatively affordable, I'd stay again in an instant. It's clearly run by people who care and makes a great 'home base' for the countless trails and sights around the area.

“Amazing views, very relaxing”

The best feature of Hotel Edelweiss is the view. Be sure to request a room with on the mountain side - you will have an amazing, uninterrupted view of the Alps. The hotel is basic, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast (which is included in the rate) was very good. Murren is very quaint and very relaxing. Murren would be an excellent base to explore other parts of the Berner Oberland region. Lots of great hiking in the area.
