Pros: The customer service was great from check in to check out. Very clean!
Cons: I thought the bed was too firm.
I came down with food poisoning the night I checked in. (Not from the hotel) I had called down to room service that night looking for crackers. Initially they said they didn't have any but a little later they came to my door with a plate full. Room service called me the next day and I asked if I needed anything. They made me chicken soup and brought some flowers to the room with it. Fantastic service.

After fighting through endless traffic arriving at the Taj as like arriving at an oasis. The decor is stunning, the staff are delightful and the rooms are extremely comfortable. We dined in the Italian 'Maritime' restaurant where we had one of the best Italian meals outside of Italy. The gym was very well equipped with great views out to sea. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The best hotel from our 10 day stay exploring the Golden Triangle. Highly recommended!

Pros: The concierge services are excellent. The assistant manager, Swati, will give the best recommendations and directions.
Cons: Would not change anything
Location: Carter Drive is a short rickshaw trip and a great place to have a walk.
Located in Bandra West, mostly an upscale residential area of town. A little far from Colaba, however, if I had chosen the latter probably would have missed this area. Notwithstanding the distance to Colaba, the trip takes about 30 minutes and avails a magnificent view of the city, with all of the contrasts and intensity.

Every thing was perfect was treated like royalty. All assistance was provided where required and best view of the sea link. Spa is fantastic.

I was surprised that the hotel has not had any major improvements that I could notice inside the rooms. (i) The bathroom mirror was flaking off (2) All the electrical outlets were under the desk or behind the bed - these days everyone needs these to charge their laptop, iphone, etc, and at my age bending down to reach the outlet was problematic (3) The safe wasn't working, and after struggling with it for 5 minutes (to make sure that I was following the instructions correctly), I called for assistance, and the staff who came simply said that he needed to re-calibrate the safe codes - he did fix it, but no apology that I had to struggle with it ! (4) The weighing scale was not working, so I had to (again) call for help. The staff who came gave the scale a really big thump (I thought he'd break it), and told me that I had to do that each time that I wanted to use it (and I mean a huge thump with the foot, not a gentle tap like scales in North America). (5) Upon departure I personally came downstairs and asked for assistance with my luggage and said I needed someone immediately - no one came up for 10 minutes and I had the bring the bags down myself. Shameful for a 5-star hotel, right? (6) The business office was very kind. They printed my document from my USB drive for free. (7) The shoeshine guy was very nice. However, the shoes came back waxed, but not shining - I had to use the mitt and shine them myself! So, overall, a less that 5-star experience.
