Iconic HotelPosted Mar 23, 2015
Good hotel, front of house staff and butlers were excellent and facilities good. The buffet breakfast in the sea view lounge needs improving and the waiters were slow and unfriendly. Overall a pleasant experiance, we stayed in Club Taj room with sea view worth paying that little extra as the free perks are great.

hotel has all grandeur of a palace of past erasPosted Mar 13, 2015
Pros: the style and the pride in the hotels staff in providing good service and information of hotel and Mumbai too.
Cons: the only one improvement would be to have once a week in house/hotel a real indian experience of food demonstrations to allow non resident guests .
we enjoyed the feeling of being in lovely historic surroundings and comfortable faultless hospitality.

Lived up to all expectations and more!!!Posted Feb 22, 2015
This hotel and holiday is one to remember! The hotel, Mumbai and India are a very special place. We were so lucky to be upgraded to the Taj club. Our time spent in the Palace Lounge, looked after wonderfully by Devendra & Pranit, made our stay very special. Our room was stunning & exceptionally clean with a beautiful view of the sea and gateway to India.

Excellent service. My flight reached late and the staff took me to the room to complete check in formalities as I was tired. I've never had any other hotel do this!

Cons: the Hor d'oevres for the club members need to be improved-pretty bland and boring
Location: see expereience above
I had been on a 9 day yoga retreat in Goa and decided to stop over in Mumbai for 4 days and meet up with my parents. It was a choice between staying at the Taj Palace, a palace of history and tradition and the grandiose of the Oberoi but history won the day; close to the Gateway of India, iconic Leopold's cafe and several musuems which are a must on any visit. The staff cannot do enough and the ongoing teatime drinks, cocktail hour followed by cognac hour kept my parents and myself well oiled after our ritual shopping, sightseeing and generally aborbsing ourselves into the madness and life that is Mumbai. Don't wait for that special occasion because it will be special when you visit. I look forward to returning soon.
