Great location at a great pricePosted Oct 23, 2013
Pros: Location and price
Cons: Could use some updating. The halls smelled of cigarettes, but our room was fine.
Hotel was walking distance to main train station and main square. We had a family room which had a bunk bed and two twins and a bathroom. It even had a balcony. It was perfect for our family. Much better than some of the more expensive places we'd stayed at in Europe. Staff was helpful and there is a little snack shop and bar in the lobby with free wifi. Even though it was on main street, our room was quiet since it face a courtyard.

Convenient location - this is the ONLY advantagePosted Sep 20, 2013
Pros: Only the location is convenient - 5 minutes walk from the main station in Munich.
Cons: The entire facility need to be upgraded, specially the lifts, the toilets and the lighting in the room.
Location: Nothing much, just quote close to Municn Hauptbanhof - main train station.
A very basic hotel with very basic facilities. Rooms are old, toilets are also very tacky, not enough lighting in the rooms. Lifts are very old and very basic. Paid a very high price for this hotel, compared to the facilities provided. Would not stay there again, neither would I recommend this hotel to others. The internet was free but it kept coming and going, not consistent, specially the 2nd day of my stay.

Great hotel - terrible car park garagePosted Aug 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great room. Fab value. Good staff. The car garage is awful. You have to bring your car down in a lift. It is just too small for an estate car and I scratched my bumper badly trying to reverse the car into the small car cradle. Fine if you have a small car but an expensive trip for me.

Clean/friendly staff/excellent location for price!Posted Jul 28, 2013
Pros: location and friendly staff for the price it was worth staying here.
Cons: It was unusually hot, even for July during our stay & with no AC they might have fans on hand to offer like a few other hotels we stayed at in Europe
Location: just two blocks from the main train station and only two stops on the subway or 15 minute walk from Marienplatz/city center
For the price and the location I would recommend this hotel and probably will stay here again someday. The only drawback was no AC and during our 5 days in Munich they were having unusually hot temps even above normal for July. The staff was very friendly, spoke near perfect English and the rooms were clean all for less than half what we paid for other hotels during our European vacation. Although only two stops by subway, we walked daily to the Marienplatz/city center maybe 12-15 minutes and walked everywhere we went from here. Have enjoyed several visits to Munich over the last 23 years and it never disappoints. Had a great time, once again!!

Convenient stay for MunichPosted Jul 26, 2013
Pros: This is a good economical choice for staying in Munich. The location next to the train station was convenient.
Cons: The main problem was the traffic noise when we had the window open...
Location: The hostel is next to the main train station. There are some restaurants and shops nearby. The city centre is a bit of a walk away.
We had a nice stay in the A&O Muenchen. We are a family of four and were able to get a four-bed room for ourselves. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. It is on a rather noisy street. Since there is no air conditioning, we would open the window to cool off, but the morning traffic noise would wake us rather early. There is free Wi-Fi in the public area on the ground floor, which was convenient. Breakfast is not included in the price, but is available at an extra cost.

Friendly staffPosted Jul 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
We could leave our luggage in the baggage room as we arrived in the morning and check in time is not until 3pm. The room was very small but the beds comfortable. We were on the first floor facing the street and it was too noisy to have the window open much which made the room very hot. Free wi fi in the reception area was useful and the staff and other guests were friendly.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed inPosted Jul 23, 2013
Pros: Cheap but good breakfast
I think the main issue is that this is a "Hostel" and not a hotel. It even says that on their own website and on the sign in front of it. Unfortunately Expedia does not say that (the first time Expedia has been wrong for me!). So, you have to be of the demographic which is comfortable with no comfort. Good for backpackers only.

Like sleeping in a converted prisonPosted Jul 17, 2013
If you are travelling fast, light and cheap it's fine, convenient for the main station, clean and helpful staff. But our room was cramp and nothing like the pictures on the website. Clanking noises, echoing corridors, cramp room - more like a converted prison than a hotel. We stayed out of it as much as possible. Luckily only there for one night. Pretty grim if we had been there for more. Maybe not suitable for a family (which we were travelling as). Walking through breakfast room everyone seemed depressed or asleep on the table!
