“Oasis in Munich”

The gracious, English-speaking staff went out of their way to be helpful. The rooms were tastefully furnished and peaceful. The location is fantastic: close to Marienplatz, the museums, restaurants and sights, but on a quiet street with good food nearby. The breakfast was sumptuous: many varieties of cereals, yogurts, fruit, cheeses, meat, breads and pastries. It was included in the price of the room, as was internet service. The only downside was that the bathroom was a bit cramped. If you prefer a locally-owned hotel for a true experience of the city, you'll love the Admiral Hotel.

“Wondeful Boutique Hotel in Munich”

The Admiral Hotel, located just steps from the Deutches Museum and a convenient S bahn stop (Isator). Is a wonderful place to stay. the hotel is clean and comfortable, especially the single rooms, which can be hit or miss in other European hotels. The staff is very friendly; when I arrived at 8 for my first stay, my room was ready for me and when I arrived for my second stay, also at 8, they let me have breakfast there while I waited for the Deutches Museum to open. They also let me store a bag there for the nine days in between stays. Fantastic place to stay in Munich!

“Our best hotel on our Germany trip”

My husband and I stayed at the Admiral hotel for our first trip to Munich, Germany. We really enjoyed our stay. The room was a decent size for Europe with a small sitting area. There was no A/C, but the ceiling fan made it comfortable. Very quiet in that we didn't hear other guest in hallways or in other rooms. However, since we needed to keep the windows open, had some street noise from cafe and cars on street. However, noise not a big problem. Staff was very attentive and brought us a fresh fruit tray on our first night. Breakfast was outstanding served on china and white linen tablecloths and cloth napkins. Excellent quality and variety of fruits, cereals, muffins and rolls, etc. Had option of eating outdoors in beautiful garden or inside.

“Perfect Location!”

This hotel was in a great location! It was near the Isartor subway station and a 10 minute walk to Marienplatz, which was the central part of Munich and where we spent most of our time. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The hotel was in perfect location, very clean, and the breakfast was great! I would absolutely recommend this hotel.

“Great hotel central to a great city!”

The hotel staff is excellent - multilingual, friendly and helpful. Can't beat the location to central Munich - a short walk to everything, including subways, trams and trains. The breakfast has an extensive selection. Room was a good size and quiet. Our only caution - a small load of laundry by the hotel staff was pricey - 30 Euros. Overall - would book here again without hesitation!

“Charming”

This hotel was absolutely charming. The staff is pleasant, engaged, bilingual, and thoughtful. The hotel itself if willed with personal and thoughtful touches. There is a beautiful courtyard, an elegant continental breakfast with exotic fresh and dried fruits, an overall classy feel. I would be back any time I am in Munich.

“Hang out at the bar, not at the front desk!”

The hotel was clean and utilitarian. It inspired my friend and me to speculate about the original uses of the building, i.e.: did US soldiers stay there during WWII?, Was it formerly a YMCA?, etc. The daytime front desk staff was not very friendly. Fortunately, the wonderful attitude of the night staff and the employees in the bar made up for it. We were expecting some tickets for a concert, and a gentleman named Jan was very helpful. It was a positive experience overall.

“The little hotel that could”

Not the ritziest place in town, a bit old-fashioned but more than made up for by the concern, friendliness and effort displayed by the staff. At first the hotel seemed a bit dated but then it grew on me and in retrospect I would say it had an old world charm in keeping with Europe that left me thinking I would definitely recommend it to others. Its assets and homey feel more than compensated for the fact that it wasn't contemporary or glitzy.
