“Rooms too small”
Staff was indifferent. Restaurant slow service. Rooms tiny. Bathroom very small.
“very small rooms, but for one night still ok”
very tiny rooms
“Need an airport shuttle w/o a 24-hour advanced booking!”
hotel is a little worn-out and remote
“Charming, but not easy to get to”
The biggest problem I had was realizing that the hotel shuttle service that was advertised on the website required reservation 24 hours in advance! So if you call them from the airport, they will not be able to pick you up. I ended up taking a taxi the 30 KM out to Neufarhn. This took around 20 min and cost me 25 Euro. Had the airport shuttle been available, it would have only cost 10 Euro. Thankfully, the hotel is staffed with charming, angelic-looking German men, so you can't stay mad for long. They had my room ready to go and apologized for the inconveniences I experienced. Neufarhn is a extremely small town surrounded by corn fields, so it was a charming little place to be. I enjoyed working out in the small fitness room and being able to connect to the internet on the computer in the lobby. Be sure to remember your ethernet cable or you won't be able to use the hotel's free internet. It's worth mentioning that I didn't see any other hotels near the airport to choose from! Either you stay near the train station at one of the hotels out there, or you spend your money and to out to Neufahrn. If you stay at one of the hotels near the train station, the fee for the S-Bahn is cheaper than the hotel shuttle fee at the Best Western Neufahrn. But, of course, it's up to you.
“small hotel”
very small rooms but very clean and good service
“For an American chain, hotel an apology with unprofessional staff”
Had dinner at the in-house restaurant. We seated ourselves and waited till long a waiter realized we were there when he returned from the kitchen. Order was not according to the menu description of the dish. Was offered ketchup with a Euro 16.00 German Wiener Schnitzel instead of a Cranberry or other sauce. On insisting was served a mushroom sauce.
“Unfriendly front desk staff.”
Called ahead to arrange a shuttle from the airport, they said it would be no problem and I should wait in the area outside baggage claim. My flight arrived a few minutes early, and after waiting there for 15 minutes I called in, and the front desk said "oh there is traffic, just keep waiting". An hour goes by and I call again and now the front desk says "find an information desk at the airport they can help you". So I just ended up taking a taxi to the hotel, which is only 10-15 minutes away from the airport (and there was zero traffic now at 11 in the morning). Hotel was support to have complimentary WIFI internet, it did not have any signal in the room at all. I asked the front desk and they said "Oh I know it works in your room, it must be the weather". It did not work for the length of the trip. Note, different front desk staff for both incidents. They did not offer to move me to a different room or have anyone fix the problem. Felt like I was getting the run-around the whole time. Also it is an hour S-Bahn/U-Bahn ride to Munich, despite having Munich in the name.
“Nice place to stay at a great price.”
For the price we paid I wasn't expecting such a good experience. The room was very clean and comfortable, light and airy. There was a good restuarant in the hotel for dinner and breakfast, and the prices were very reasonable. The room was quiet and very comfortable. The location was more isolated than I expected - a small village with minimal "town" activity. I don't know how easy it might have been to get transportation into the city, but it was conveniently close to/from the airport. It certainly met all of our needs. Oh, and thaving beer in the vending machine put a smile on my face.
“Close to Airport”
The hotel is conveniently away from the train. It's about a 20 minute walk but weather was nice so it wasn't bad. The locks on the doors were a bit difficult to adjust to but other than that, everything was great.
“A Great Hotel During Oktoberfest, or Anytime!”
We picked this hotel mainly because of its proximity to Munich airport. It's just a 30 minute drive "door-to-door". We discovered an added bonus: it's just a 20 minute walk from the hotel to the commuter rail (S-Bahn) that takes you into the Munich city center. No driving or parking headaches. It was perfect for our visit during Oktoberfest! The hotel is located in a very quiet and peaceful residential neighborhood. The hotel staff was very friendly and courteous. They answered all of our questions to our satisfaction, and also provided us with railroad maps and Munich street maps. The food served in the restaurant was good, although a bit limited in selection. A nice breakfast buffet is included in the room charge. Bathroom soap is provided, but not face cloths.
